That is exactly why Hezbollah is so constrained domestically since it doesn't control the government or have a majority within Lebanon. The root cause is that the residents of the south feel neglected by the central government and had to form their own militias to resist Israeli occupation from 1978 when the state failed to do so. That's why they feel like they need Hezbollah and Hezbollah has legitimacy as an indigenous group formed to resist foreign occupation of the south.

Ok, so why were they abandoned by Hezbollah? That ceasefire deadline ended and now Israelis are saying they will stay permanently. Now the ball is in Hezbollah's court to help and provide for its constituency b/c the Lebanese Army are impotent.

We are going round in circles. I have not seen any Shia Lebanese people complaining they have been abandoned, only you are keen to promote this narrative even though I keep explaining how your view is fundamentally ignorant and incorrect.

In response, Lebanese protestors have amassed in Beirut and have blocked the sole road to Beirut airport by burning tires, pledging that no one will be allowed to access the airport until the Lebanese state allows their pilgrims to return from Iran.

The pilgrims stuck in Iran have also complained that no one from the Lebanese state has reached out to offer them any alternative solutions, and they cannot afford to buy alternative flights to other countries. Iran has given the abandoned Lebanese citizens hotel rooms in the interim.

As usual, the Lebanese state bows to the US and abandons its own people.

I don't think our Tork friends would be happy if Iranians went to the Tork section and started changing the names of their country and leaders to mock and troll them.

"Tork" is simply the Persian word for Turks. Can we still use the Persian language in the Iranian section at least? Lol
