China's C919 has obtained airworthiness certificates from many countries and is challenging the market monopoly of Boeing and Airbus

Just pure sour grapes, coming here to shit on other members and the thread that has absolutely nothing to do with them and their country since they have no interest in C919 or other Chinese airplanes. Have the audacity to complain this and that of others, better look themselves in the mirror first.

I didn't realize canda was building an airliner

The Chinese achilleas heel are the engines. Airlines today are more dependent on fuel costs than ever before and with the western governments' restrictions on exporting the latest engines to China, it leaves the C919 less competitive.

You haven't heard of Bombardier?

When would they stop? they better be quick, for China would make the top class engines very soon and most probably leapfrog the western ones. There's not much time left for the western engine makers.

It is an ineffective way of curtailing a competitor this big and integrated in the world economy, anyway. Especially given the Chinese track record. Smarter choice would have been to hedge their bets and become a part of the Chinese ecosystem as well.

they will just buy IP or some other JV for engine from west if required, it is not hurdle for them even for west is better to participate then obstructing them like in semiconducter industry which backfired badly.
No, West don't allow to have a JV or IP rights for their engines to China, The only option for China to develop the engine from Russia and China doing this right now, Equipping D-30 (Russian Engine) to Y-20 and H-6K, copying DPK-30 as WS-18 and developing new engine based on D-30 technology (WS-20)

Detour but end of the road is clear, they will be third big player soon on international civil aviation market anyway, only trade wars or restrictions can prevent for while their utilisation of enormous industrial base funneled in this branch of high tech product.

China itself accounts for 20% of the global aviation market, this share is enough to keep C 919's hands full for at least one to two decades, India is never its priority.
I still won't risk my life traveling in 919.....

I thought Bombardier was now owned by Mitsubishi?

Listen thick indian, it is not my fault that your country is technological dwarf and look on norther neighbor with sour face and envy., so why do you not shake off my posts as no one addressed you.
An odd and unnecessarily snarky response from the guy whose country has been set back 50 years economically since the death of Tito and the breakup of Yugoslavia back to the previous nation states.

you inducted lots a soviet/Russian scientists/ aerospace engineers after dissolution of Soviet Union, Y-20is mixture of bot I-76 and C-17

Your Air force is still 80 to 90% based on Russian /.Soviet/ EU and US designs
First time I saw a photo of the Y-20 that was my exact thought: C-17 clone.

Meanwhile worthless...
Who really flies to South America or Africa or Southeast Asia? There is nothing worthwhile going there.
I have been to South America and Africa. A lot going on in both that I'd like to see more off. Haven't been to SE or South Asia yet but I did make a trip to SW Asia. There was something going on there at the time. Does that count?

Oh, I've made quite a few trips to the 51st state as well. :)
