PA MLRS, Self Propelled and towed artillery [BM-11, Fatah-I GMLRS, Fatah-II] - News, Updates & Discussions

@Panzerkiel how many launchers to a fatah missile battery? 6x8 means 48 missiles, which will **** up any S400 battery, even if it intercepts all.

Why would India intercept F1 with S400?
They have multiple other options
Their main workhorse is Barak 8 and now they are heavily going for indigenous solutions.
Barak 8 is well capable battle tested weapon system.

I think their initial plan was to develop two stage 300mm rocket to get longer range but later on changed the mind and went for bigger SRM and developed 400mm dia rocket motor based Fatah-2 G-MLRS.
Naval SMASH is also this same Fatah-2 but with better guidance mechanism
Fatah-2 SSM & F3 SSM are different in design to F2 GMLRS but likely based on same 400mm dia dual thrust rocket motor.

Except Baseline fins, Fatah-3 SSM doesn't employ any additional fins.
If this rocket is indeed shelved it doesn't make sense to still have it on the site, Rest I don't believe Fatah-2 and this rocket (let's call it Fatah-1 ER) are interchangeable.

Tactical Ballistic missiles like F2 are best reserved for high value targets while GMLRS are best for much wider use with the benefit of higher saturation potential as you can only carry 2 F2s whilst 8 F1s on a single truck.

Our recent skirmish with India literally proves it as Fatah 1 saw much wider use than Fatah 2. Now imagine you have the ability to target 2× further with the same number or projectiles.

I'd argue China's best weapon against Taiwan isn't their airforce, navy or their hypersonic BUT their PHL-16 MLRS that can reach whole stretch of Taiwan while staying deep inside China. Cost effective and very destructive.

So I wish it gets fielded one day.

What did the Indian used arty/mrls? How did they performed?
Towed artillery cannot stand any chance in moderate warfare on both sides.

Counter battery fire and drone will destroy it.

It's era of shoot and scoot or long range artillery

they have K9, but haven't seen it in used.

Next time, they will start with Navy & decimate the Pakistan Navy ships and Karachi port with saturation attack . We had AD on land and it got saturated and airbases got damaged. What AD will be in SEA to protect our surface fleet from saturation attack? Brahmos 2 will be attacking from 700- 800 KM's.
only if they wear an invisibility cloak, DO NOT underestimate Pakistan Navy, it might be small in terms of numbers but they are a very potent force and will surprise and hurt IN just like the PAF surprised and humiliated IAF.

@Panzerkiel always does that. Sir if its possible give us a few details about those long range vectors, BMs, CMs or HGVs, DGISPR did said we are in the possession of some niche technologies, a little explanation on this wouldn't give out any confidentiality.
Why do you want the enemy to find out?

Do you know how far were we from using nukes in this conflict?
And how much depth Pakistan has with regards to ammo/supplies/money if another such misadventure comes from hindutva?
this was not even a war, it was just a skirmish. Pakistan has enough capability to beat the crap out of the enemy without resorting to the use of nukes. nukes only come in to play when the red lines are crossed.

I understand, but considering the lack of strategic depth of Pakistan, India can hit 100-200 cruise missiles to cripple our bases and infrastructure badly, we will have to act before we loose even a chance to be able to launch nuclear weapons.
