TEHRAN – Iran's Army (Artesh) has reported the downing of a third Israeli F-35 fighter jet, likely by Iranian-made air defenses, according to a correspondent of national Iranian TV.

The problem with Iran is that they relied on ancient ballistic missiles and never considered modernizing its missiles or they were too arrogant to purchase anything else off the self. Even North Korea has better ballistic missiles then Iran. If they had hypersonic like DF17, Israel would have been cooked. Btw, if your air strips are targeted, even F22 would be sitting duck.

They were not arrogant. No one would provide them components. No one would sell them air defense systems or fighter jets. They tried to.

Israeli air strips are likely for show. In most situations their fighter jets are taking off from civilian disguised facilities and underground runways. Even if you hate those air bases, they just repair the roads quickly. They are using civilian installations for their military mobilization.

How long can we sustain Israeli planes coming and going as they like and bombing our infrastructure?

Long if you disperse and relocate critical parts of industry and concentrate air defence on several key areas.
Russia is bombing ukraine for years yet they manage to maintain functionality but you need some assistance from outside and at least some limited space to deny free of charge air bombings, your geography and size should help with it. If you have human resource capable for war time organisation and management, it is doable.
In essence it is matter of will and determination.

What Air Force? We didn’t have an airforce! When was the last time Iranian airforce did anything in past 10 years or 20 years?

This is what I tried to warn this damn board for decades. You cannot be a 1 trick pony and only rely on missiles for defenses. You cannot expect your air defense network to withstand hundreds of strikes and ECW and spies without collapsing.

You need air power!

You need supersonic stealth drones that can fly to Israel and drop bombs in a matter of a couple hours and come back!

Instead all funding went to speedboats, large intelligence ships, missiles, and more missiles.

Well guess what, when you can’t take your missiles out of the cave and you lost the skies, your screwed!

We likely gave Israel north of $500 billion in funds to keep economy afloat and weapons since late 2023. Maybe even close to one trillion. Whatever the US is providing for Israel is not being disclosed to the American public.

I do think Pakistan has many moles within Pakistan since General Zia ul Haq made Pakistan a CIA Headquarter in the 80s to support the conflict against the Soviets in Afghanistan but that was a long time ago; much of that has been cleared up since then. Also, the harsh social policies in Iran has contributed to so many disgruntled traitorous Iranians in Iran. Pakistan is a haven of freedoms compared with Iran.

There are enough disgruntled people within Pakistan who will take up offers from external agencies, many of whom have been wronged or have had their families wronged. Therefore, I wouldn't say we're not as compromised as Iran; thus far, they've been able to surprise us in Lebanon and now in Iran. Remember, many can go years or decades without being activated until the time is right.

ISI, for what it is, hasn't been as effective; it has created an aura around itself, but it has fallen short in containing internal threats.
