Trump's meeting with national security team in Situation Room has started​

US President Donald Trump is meeting with his national security team in the Situation Room, according to a White House official.

It comes as the president weighs if the US should get further involved with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. He left the Group of 7 summit in Canada a day early yesterday to return to Washington.

Some more background: Israel has asked the United States for a purely “defensive posture” amid its conflict with Iran, Israeli Ambassador to US Yechiel Leiter told CNN.

More than 30 US aerial refueling tankers have been surged to the region over the last several days to prepare for the possibility that Trump decides to order the US Air Force to help refuel Israeli fighter jets as they carry out strikes over Iran, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Anyway, I have very limited knowledge of the fatwa system in Shia islam, so can't comment on it further. For me, it was the most stupid fatwa I have ever heard from someone whose entire nation was living with an existential threat for decades.

You sure? Normally in Islam a scholar can take back a fatwa aswell, fatwa is just a religious ruling depending on a given situation, at times situation can change and fatwa changes ie getting bombed by Israel hint hint Ayatullah sahib.

I do not think there is concern, but rather the U.S. sees an opportunity to strike after Iran has exhausted all options to counter and is wounded; the Americans smell blood.

Israel is far from taking any losses that would concern the Americans.

US Vice President JD Vance said “Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon” in comments to reporters after a lunch at the US Capitol with Republican senators today.

Asked by CNN if President Donald Trump was moving closer to taking an offensive action against Iran, Vance responded, “I think the president is making clear to the American people and the entire world that his policy is that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon, and that part of that is that they’re not allowed to have enrichment in their country.”
Vance added that there are “many different options at the president’s disposal for how to accomplish the ultimate policy goal,” he said, adding that the administration is currently “trying to explain why that matters to the American people why it matters to the president of the United States and we’ll keep on doing that.”

Of course. It would be in our interest if Turkey and Israel were involved in a war. With us not taking part of course. It would also be very interesting to see the Israeli Air Force against the Turkish Air Force. The capabilities of both countries on the sea as well. Turkish drones vs Israeli drones.
 
It's over, sooner we accept better it would be. Firing 15-20 more missile at Israel won't change a thing.

Regime has to go, they will not agree to anything less.

Best case (least possible), Regime go to exile and peaceful transfer of power.

Worst case (most likely), more devastation, regime gets over thrown and Saddam/Gaddafi type end result .

Even if 99.9% of the western populations are against the genocide, they are all irrelevant and their sensibilities don't count for anything.

There was a time where western politicians cared about public opinions or were beholden to it.
