Well, we have several confirmed serial numbers, so yes 100% confirmed

Andreas - Buddy, can you tell us the initial quantity of J-35's in operations with 1st and 2nd brigade? Are these the only brigades so far? I know you keep a tally of serial numbers so please explain. China has officially announced induction also. Thanks

I personally think we have a few years assuming funds and production align.

Whatever funds we have should go to J-10CE and JF-17 Block lll, . I mean we can still order J-31/35 in 2028 and start receiving them in 2029. And it would still make Pakistan the first to induct 5th generation fighter jet. I mean we all can see that India won't get any 5th generation jet before 2030 atleast.

Need of the hour is to build fleet of AESA capable (and hence PL&15 equipped) jets. This should be the goal, add 50 AESA capable 4/4.5 generation Block 3 and J-10CEs before you go for J-31/35.

And tried to upgrade the Block II's to AESA + PL15E's aswell.

China even today is manufacturing 4/4.5/4.5+ generation fighter jets. You should be asking, when china is already moving towards 6G, doesn't it make more sense to replace all the 4/4.5 generation jets with 5G as well and have 1500+ 5G fighter jets ?
4.5 generation jet are still effective and proven worth .. off course cost effective then 5th generation

US still investing in F15s , Russian in su35s, franch Rafael have queue of customers, even F16 still in production line, Euro fighter still have potential customers..

It says “Not Pakistan Air Force”, My guess is this is a tricky statement coming from Alan. It’s the Pakistan Navy!
Pakistan Navy funded jet are also under PAF possession and use... They only route funds to PAF...

I wonder what the PAF would do when they would send 5th gen fighters to such shows? Stealth coating surely restricts such sort of tattoos.
If and when PAF have 5th generation.. its most unlike they send them to this sort event ..

Don't underestimate Indian... They are looking for short term quick limited induction... Su57 is possible candidate that fill the gap ... Later thay can go for F35

I don't know if I have read it wrong, or my memory is not serving me well. But I think only the Block-2B version can be upgraded to block-3 standard (AESA and all). I don't think we have more than 25+ block-2Bs.

So if this is true, then all block 1s and Block-2A's will need to be retired as they can't be upgraded to the intended standard. So you got a handful of Block-2B upgraded to block-3, some 26 block 3, and 24 J-10C. 75-80 AESA capable fighters only that can carry PL-15. Too little to face an adversary like India

I know bro.

Context matters. My post was in a completely different context to prove a completely different point.

We all are aware of Indian defence procurement. Even if they sign a deal today. The SU-57 won't start arriving before 2028, that too in single digit every year. We all know how badly is Russian supply chain effected by the war. It is not in the position to mass manufacture SU-57.

Glad to see a second person who thinks like me. I agree with your post and have been preaching it for two years.

Lastly, 50 J-10CE's/ JF-17's, is a very small number to add. We got lucky this time in May because most of our 50 PL-15 capable jets were new. Otherwise, you should estimate 60% availability ratio. The math:

- 80 J-10CE's minimum
- 180 JF-17 (block III's + rest block II's with Block III's AESA as an immediate upgrade for PL-15 integration).
- This is 80+180= 260 - 60% availability = 154 Jets available for immediate fight. This is an estimate of readiness. We can maintain a higher % and that's good.

- Add 75 F-16's as on tier II air defense. We shouldn't buy more. Just upgrade existing one's from Turkey one last time, and get 18 block 52 upgraded to block 70 from the US. The issue is, even if the US gave us the AMRAAM-D's, they will still be below Meteor's range and NEZ, so the F-16's will always be kept at tier II, behind J-10CE's and JF-17's.

Now the total= 260 + 75 = 335 total aircraft. When PFX Alpha will be inducted in decent strength, I'd expect we'd start retiring JF-17 block I's. This math is to show a decent number for self defense. Not to counter 5th gen threat from India.

The US is in deep negotiations with India on F-35. Trump is ending all Indian caution against it and India will be free to use it. I'd expect the deal to finalize soon. There needs to be a different analysis to counter it, ideally with J-35 and KAAN. Not included in this post.

China Requests US-Style Regulation for Pakistan’s J-35A Stealth Fighters

China’s proposed significant agreement to provide Pakistan with advanced J-35A stealth jets has encountered an unforeseen obstacle. Beijing has requested surveillance protocols from Islamabad. The US has imposed similar protocols on Pakistan’s F-16 fleet. China’s request stems from significant concerns over espionage. This crucial mandate seeks to avert the transfer of sensitive stealth technology to American entities.

What motivates China’s pursuit of US-style surveillance?

China’s demand for US-style surveillance arises chiefly from concerns regarding espionage. Beijing is concerned that the growing collaboration between Islamabad and Washington may lead to unintentional disclosures of sensitive military technology. The United States currently imposes stringent End-User Agreements (EUAs) on Pakistan’s fleet of 76 F-16 fighter jets. These agreements require the deployment of US ground personnel at critical Pakistani airbases, including Mushaf and Shahbaz, to safeguard sensitive elements such as the APG-68 radar.

Consequently, China now pursues analogous measures to safeguard the stealth capabilities of the J-35A fighters. The principal issue pertains to obstructing Pakistani military officials from permitting American personnel access to these aircraft, thus inadvertently jeopardizing vital Chinese technology.
