Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 2x Type 076 in the vicinity of each other = 1 effective CV but more difficult to hit becoz there are now two targets instead of 1?
3 Type 076 "together" would make a 1.5 CV!
If China really needs another CV, wouldn't it be more wise to mass produce Type 076 while the (future) carrier program is reserved exclusively for CVN?
CVNs are like EVs. No way in hell China wants to be stuck with ICE even when being used in her own backyard.

If we develop a VTOL aircraft, 075s and 076 will suddenly become aircraft carriers.

China needs to put 25 of these out. Get Russian YAK to give it TOT for VTOL/STOVL jets, like they did for the F-35.
China needs to produce a J-35 version for VTOL/STOVL, and deploy 1-2 squadrons per these LHD's. Imagine even 15 of these all over the world in small task force size, creating immense power for the Chinese military.
For larger wars and strategic war with the US, they can continue to build larger AC's that take average 4-5 years to build, test and deploy for battle. But a stealth VTOL deployed in 1-2 squadrons creating 15-25 task forces across the globe create a true global power footprint all over the world. 15-30 stealth 5th gen jets per ship are a massive force for majority of the world and when deployed in 15-25 task force, they project massive global power.
