No, it won't be the case. The programs we want them to join, are already financially established with China. So there is no "exaggerated" cost. Dealing with China is easier business. They will give you a full project and cost plan per the budget. You pay and get the TOT or a weapon's buildout, like we are interested in 5th gen platform. So is rather much simple. West on the other hand uses "time and material" model. Which isn't fixed. So you end up over shooting your budget by billions in large projects.

It is not specially question of J-35.
F-35 is badly born, mainly because of the VSTOL model and its huge center fan. This choice made all the others fat and aerodynamically low optimized. An error not made by chinese.
Another issue : it was studied as a A10 and F16 (in the CAS role) replacement. During the developpment phase USAF decided to made it a air superiority model. But the frame studied for CAS mission is not optimised for AS. It is why despite a huge engine it can't supercruise and has average agility performances.

Weapon system : all blocks are late, overcost, less potent than intended. The bird is so called FOC, but it is a political FOC, nothing more than a IOC.

Conclusion : if F-16 was a formidable plane, Lockeed Martin seems to have lost its skill with F-35.

Impressive for sure. Doing that with 80-90 aircraft on board, with many landing and taking off at the same time will be an interesting workup and training for everyone involved. Americans have done that for decades, China is just starting with big carriers. I am sure they have been studying and refining new processes and procedures to operate the new aircraft carrier, but it will take time for eveyone to be trained and then be operationally deployable for actual combat.

Interesting times indeed.

J35 claims are making traction

This dude the "defense outpost" one, is I believe a 20/22 year old. Just guessing from his voice and content he puts out. He's had a history of producing youtube videos without background facts. I've seen some other comments under his videos where people who know the topics are saying to properly research before making a video. So not everyone is authentic.

We all know Pakistan is getting the J-35's in the future. But these guys are just constantly twisting that same argument and making daily videos with little "twist of the imagination".
