PAF Conducts Successful Test Launch of Taimoor ALCM

Here are my 2 cents on that.

PAF hit Bernala IACCS and S400 with CM400 as those were identified as threats to our air ops.

Our belated response by PA with Fatah was more for optics. Majority of the current sat images being shared are of superficial damage to India infrastructure by thise rinky dinky Yiha drones.

PA dig bang the yindus up with sh15 in kashmir and across IB.

I may totally be wrong and thoae Fatah rockets might have caused a lot of damage.
Majority of damage by PA was across the LOC. By neutralizing S400 and other assets PAF made a corridor for operations if the skirmish continued.

Why not develop longer-range cruise missile at 2000km range?
That would require us to install Engines with greater efficiencies, more course correction and flight path as you probably cannot just fly at 0.8 mach the entire way..would need to make the missile very large etc etc..these will oly be launched from ground as air launched variants wont be possible due to size and weight(we don't have bombers).

I always recommend to anyone on any side of any argument - and not directed to you but at large- before you get into presenting opinions or arguments, please take time to read

The impact this book has had on both my professional and even personal relationships is immense but also my learning.

not sure why Pakistan is hung up on subsonic cruise missiles for the last 20 years.. they shouldve started hypersonic cruise missile program 10 years ago.. what a lost opportunity

I think we are going off topic.

But just to clear this point as well - yes, there may be certain fascination factor found among the females for being a military wife. But things are changing my brother. Real life is getting tougher.

There is simply no money to afford the usual perks like good old times. No new constructions for accommodations being done at bases. That means the you'll have to wait 3-4 years to get an official accommodation for a family. Guest rooms are used on ad-hoc basis but they charge so much you have 60-70 K per month amounting to mess bill.

Professional life has become more and more hectic. So many new systems being inducted while the service is focused on rationalization of manpower at the same time.

Very little family time and sports time - nothing like good old times. Less leaves - no more C130 sorties for travelling - they even revising the policies for end service benefits as well to ensure least burden on service - The good times are gone as far as this job is concerned, too.

So you'll see this fascination factor soon fading away.

Anyway - let's get back to the topic.
Good old times? Well, good times are for losers or if you wanna lose the next round. Military men must be on their toes 24/7.

But i as a civilian am in full favor 100% of giving higher raises and WELL ABOVE average compensation to men fighting the front lines. That be officers or NCOs.

Like match PAF/ PA/PN salaries with market or above market to retain them and keep them motivated. In specialized roles like AEWC/EW/Cyber/Design/MRO give them higher salaries than what private sector could offer. In the grand scheme of things, salaries burden wont be that high. Much better than giving haramkhor judges and politicians and bureaucrats more perks.

Problem is always retaining skilled people......losing them costs way more.

Supersonic/hypersonic not always better. Us has been using harpoon and tomahawk for last 40 years and they ars still relevant.

Bro.

The purpose of the military is to protect national security. Soldiers risk their lives to ensure the safety of ordinary citizens. This is not a profession that can be measured in monetary terms.

We support providing soldiers with appropriate compensation. However, we absolutely cannot allow our soldiers to fight for money. Extremely dangerous consequences will follow if our soldiers start to prioritize financial reward. ------ When war breaks out, the enemy will always offer higher rewards.

As civilians, the best support we can give to our soldiers is to show them the utmost respect and courtesy. This is something no enemy can ever give them. It's also something that money cannot buy.

As for military salaries, they should be kept at a reasonable level, in line with the country's actual economic conditions. The goal is to prevent soldiers and their families from experiencing extreme poverty as a result of their service.

Most importantly, all soldiers must feel that they are engaged in something extremely sacred and highly respected by the public, rather than simply performing a high-paying job.

IMHO, this is not the only time we see Taimoor tested. I can foresee multiple tests in coming months and we may see a change in its geometry like we saw in case of Raad. Now, many members have raised questions about our limited overall industrial capacity which results in low produciton scale. While this is true but it seems thankfully May 25 conflict has triggered some realization and suddenly forces have waken up from slumber. Now at least I don't listen that nonsense in my circlces which used to be there few years ago (before 2019 particularly) that there will be no war between Pakistan and India as MAD prevails and there is no space of conflict under the nuclear threshold. But global politics, our economic profile, and most importantly hostile RSS/BJP political agenda have nullified this nonsense and now same people are concerned what Pakistan will do in next round. For India, thanks to its massive economy, importing systems is no problem while we are reacting and catching up. If we look closely, Pakistan never had opportunities to build its military industrial complex like it has now. Never before Pakistan's trusted allies like China and Turkiye had this much advanced technologies to offer like they do have now. We just need to put our house in order and need to have a clear industrial vision with similar political involvement like our nuclear and missile program got.

The Y-9 is a HORRIBLE aircraft.

Its an old, clunky design. No support infrastructure outside of China, etc. The lack of outside support infra is also valid for the Y-20. People tend to overlook this, but the PAF has access to support options for the C130 in the US, in Europe, in Africa, Asia, etc. Literally every continent.

They also have access to spare pools globally too.

You dont get this with the Y20. You're at the mercy of the Chinese, their ability to price gouge as needed and grab you by the balls. Commercially, theres nothing stopping CATIC from hiking prices during wartime, they know we're coming back to buy from them anyway... so they have more of an incentive to make more money.

With the hercs, once again, if tomorrow the PAF wanted a propellor overhaul, i can get them 10 quotes to compare. I cant do this for the Y20/Y9 though. I am stuck with the one supplier.

Plus, the PAF has tons, and tons of c-130 experience. Yes, the J gets new systems and engines, but the engines are the same as the SAAB 2000's, so another +ve, then the PAF has general platform experience for sustainment and support, so another positive.

i wonder why the PLAAF uses Garmin consumer gps for nav. Aera 795.

I think this dude would be perfect for the role

The EUROS have already sold to Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Malaysia.

However, if we want to scale up, we'd need to bring companies like Atlas Motors or Millat Tractors into the loop because they have some real-world knowledge of scaling up and down for demand. But for them to suddenly enter into munitions production, they'll need investment and tooling, and that will only come if we facilitate Turkish FDI into the private sector (that might help push the CNCs and other equipment into Pakistan as it would be Turkish-owned or co-owned with a local subsidiary)

100% probably the biggest issue now, large automated factories are needed to build weapons by the numbers.

I guess the Ra'ad is a older less range and heavier cruise missile used by Mirage 3/4

the Taimoor seems to be a smaller more compact longer range cruise missile used by JF17 Block 3

in future I would like to see Pakistan build air launched miniature cruise missiles
