Altay & Turkish Main Battle Tank Programs

And then Rafale ended up with PL-15 in its ass. Don't get too cocky. If your Greek or Emirati friends gets too adventurous, some Turkish missile might end up there too.;)
So you are finding it that difficult to come up with a sensible answer that actually relates to our topic?

your "drop in " explanation was too short to convince me that using the same config, same number of cylinders, same global cm3, same connections to the hgear box and MBT frame is something else than a copy. But OKay, it's a drop in replacement ;) .

Now the real stake is to see the reliability of Batu engine. Not a so easy tack, because the german engine is the result of a long engine family, with a lot of refinements and improvements.

If you have a specific space it needs to fit into, and a specific power requirement, why would I recreate the wheel and build something exotic when everyone else build a V12 and put Twin Turbo on it? What is the benefit of a V8 or V10 underpowered engine here?

You are just bitter.

there was other architecture possible : V8, V10, ....
But it's clear that it was the easier way to mimic the german engine that already deeply inspired south corea for it's K2 engine.

French Engine is V8 , because LECLERC Tank is 55-56 tons

but ALTAY Tank is 65 tons
V12 Engines provide a much smoother, more continuous and stable torque output. This immense low-end torque is vital for propelling modern 65–70 tons Tanks like ALTAY

Also, V12 Engines operate with almost zero vibration, even at very high power outputs.

German , Korean , Russian , British , Chinese and Turkish Engines are V12

better wory about your LECLERC Tank which is without an Active Protection System

French chose V8 not because Leclerc is lighter, but because its engine has a very specific configuration : a dedicated turbine push compressed air in the engine, so the engine can have a smaller displacement. It acts as a turbo, but with full pressure even from idle. So A V8 was far than enough. The tork is impressive, even at low rotation speed.

And Leclerc is lighter because (but not only) nearly 1 meter less long than others, thanks to this engine configuration, reducing the total weight.

the same displacement engine but with 10 or 8 cylinders may have given the same power. But a shorter and bigger engine.

T72 is in the 41 to 45 tons. And powered by a V12. So it's not (at least not only) the weight that drive the engine config.

The V12 in the T-72 is much older and far less power. The Altay design philosophy is also different, its a more armored heavier tank, it needs to more power and that power is best served with a V12 that generates the amount of power that it does. Show us the V8 tank engine with the 1500hp and performance as the V12 that the replacement engine is supposed to fill. It doesn't exist, everyone has used a V12 for their engine for a reason at that weight and power need.

Several people have now explained things to you, and now you are just trolling, so I'm going to put an end to this.

Our BON BON wanted it let's go LECLERC vs ALTAY

LECLERC XLR Tank ( France )

NO Active Protection System
NO Radars
NO 360-degree sensor fusion camera array
NO augmented reality Helmet

ALTAY Tank ( Turkiye )

-- AKKOR Active Protection System

-- 4 Radars for back tracking

-- SPIDER Advanced Situational Awareness System

-- Beyond Armor Vision Technology
Similar to the helmet technology used in F-35 Fighter Jet, modern Tank warfare now employs digital Helmets that eliminate the need for the crew to look at displays inside the Tank

-- The Sensor-to-Shooter Loop (How it happens) Instead of a sci-fi fantasy, this operation utilizes structured tactical network steps

ALTAY Tank will operate with UCAVs including AKINCI to hit enemy Tanks from 100-150 km away

Through Link-16 / Wideband Software Defined Radios (CNR) and the BATUR-100 Command & Control System, the ALTAY functions as a heavy data hub on the ground

-- The suspension system of the ALTAY Tank is more advanced and better

-- In terms of its fire control system (FCS), the ALTAY Tank features a system architecture that is technologically more advanced, more highly integrated, and more advantageous than that of the French LECLERC XLR Tank

The Sensor-to-Shooter Loop capability

(How it happens) Instead of a sci-fi fantasy, this operation utilizes structured tactical network steps

Through Link-16 / Wideband Software Defined Radios and the BATUR-100 Command & Control System, the ALTAY functions as a heavy data hub on the ground

1 -- The AKKOR Active Protection System, mounted on the ALTAY Tank, performs a 360-degree scan. The moment enemy elements such as those attempting an ambush with missiles or artillery units open fire on the Tank, the AKKOR Radars calculate the trajectory of the incoming ammunition in reverse (back-tracking) to pinpoint the exact coordinates of the enemy’s ambush position within milliseconds

2 -- The ALTAY Tank uploads the precise enemy coordinate data obtained from radar to the network via its onboard BATUR Tank Command and Control Information System.

The coordinates identified by the Tank are transmitted via Link-16 and appear instantly as a "target location" on the screen of AKINCI UCAVs patrolling in the air

3 -- AKINCI UCAV loads the coordinates received from the Tank into the missile and fires the İHA-230 laser guided supersonic missiles from a safe zone (outside the range of enemy air defenses) 50-100-150 km away

As the missile approaches the target, the ALTAY Tank uses its own advanced electro-optical sighting system to designate the enemy target (such as a mobile bunker or an enemy tank) with a laser.

And GAME OVER !

Deadly combo ALTAY Tank + AKINCI UCAV

TB-3 , ANKA-S , AKSUNGUR and AKINCI UCAVs can opeate with the ALTAY Tank in network cnetric warfare capability to hit the enemy Tanks

-- 35 km MAM-T laser guided Munition
-- 50 km MAM-T IIR guided Munition
-- 60 km ALPAGUT kamikaze Drone with E/O Camera + IIR seeker
-- 65 km IHA-122 laser guided supersonic Missile
-- 100 km EREN Missile with IIR seeker
-- 150+ km IHA-230 laser guided supersonic Missile

Nowhere to hide - Nowhere to run
