I am not a Shia Muslim, I was telling my wife that perhaps in the next 2-3 years, I intend to take part in this event as well. It is a remarkable occasion where the people of Kufa open their doors to travellers, warmly welcoming strangers in their houses by providing them with everything they need. You basically have the largest free food arrangement in the world, stretching over 80 kilometres, which travellers walk over the course of 3-4 days.

The family of the Prophet is probably the only link in between Muslims that binds us together and the more we send “Durood” upon them is the least we could do.

Arbaeen is an event primarily attended by Shia Muslims, but it is not exclusive to them. Over the past three days, I watched videos showing Sunni Muftis taking part in it as well.

PS: I don’t regard my association with any sect and only call myself a Muslim and please keep this thread clean from sectarian debate. Keep it about the event only
