Azerbaijan Air Force Becomes Fourth Operator of JF-17 Fighter Aircraft, President Aliyev Confirms

Neither Azerbaijani, nor Pakistani official statements say anything about JF-17B. Only JF-17C Block 3.

PAF video released yesterday said: A contract has been signed for the sale JF-17 Block 3 to Azerbaijan

And Azerbaijani press release only mentions JF-17C (Block 3):

“JF-17C (Block-III) multirole aircrafts presented to President Ilham Aliyev”

There is a Bravo in the footage released by PAF during mid air refuelling.

Azeri President website confirmed that Azeri airforce is getting JF-17 Block IIIs. Later confirmed by Pakistan as well.

What's not confirmed is that how many aircrafts and contract value. There is no official confirmation of rumors of 1.6 B USD contract. It could be just an estimate by fan club. There is no confirmation on number of units and cost. So let's avoid getting into rumors for this.

Let's wait and see what happens. How will their pilots convert to the JF-17.

As crows fly, that is very impressive range. We can easily "fiddle" in middle east if it comes to that.

I think peeps missed on one very important detail. There is bravo in the formation :).
The flight path shows Pakistan can form an "air bridge" to AZ, avoiding Iran, should the need rises. IMO a message has been delivered.....

Elhamdulillah. The BAF will join this club Insha'Allah....

There is no incentive for single engine Fighter procurement as of now. If we ever going to get one, it will very likely be J10C. (As shown in BAF 'future plan' poster during MHD-2024) Ongoing procurement program is MRCA.

The question of President only mentioning block 3 and leaving out JF-17 B is honestly irrelevant. The statement would look odd "we bought block 3 and JF-17 B from Pakistan". Political statements are meant for public consumptions, not technical and detailed in their nature.

Also we all know that it was said that Bravos were built on expected architecture for Block 3 (kind of block 2.5) so its possible that those Bravos going to Azerbaijan will in fact be block 3. Also we know from PAFs own experience its not strictly necessary to have Bravos to train your crews.
