Babur-Class (MILGEM) Corvette | Updates & Discussion

i can only count 4 , 2 already inducted [PNS Yarmook (F271), PNS Tabuk (F272)] while two are been readied [ PNS Hunain (F273), PNS Yamama (F274)] ... that is all i can count now, what are the other 2 you are talking about?
Batch 3 in Future .

Our Replenishment Ship got 2 of them while 2 are received by PNS-Yarmook & PNS-Tabuk. Remaining two may be fitted to Babar-class Corvettes while PN can easily get two more from USN Surplus stock at much cheaper rates to equip remaining pair of Babar-class.
There were 6 phalanx. i dont know why didn't remember PN had 6 tariq class frigates. That said i think with 2 on the replenishment ships, 2 on Yarmooks batch 1s, I would find it odd if there are 2 more on the way, with no CIWS. There are other options for the Baburs (godkeniz and the 2 turkish PDMS). I think the last 2 phalanx will end up on the batch 2 yarmook. Baburs will likely end up with something else.

It is not ordered nor it is under construction yet
In Pakistan case , we sometimes know about ship when construction starts , Due to its cost effectiveness and delay in Jinnah Class Frigates we may see further batch/batches . Of course no concrete evidence for future orders but indications are there FULL STOP .

buying a few more Phalanax may not be out of the question

Getting those from uncle sam may be an issue

One way of a rejection is uping the price...in which case you wouldn't orocure it and go for alternative

Well, it is not a cutting edge system, we already have the capability and they recently sold us upgrades to the current Phalnax, so if we have the cash good chance.

Failing that Turkish options are very good.

why is everyone assuming they wont recieve turk ciws- im pretty confident they wont recieve phalanx and will recieve turkish ciws or could possibly even be fitted with ram. perhaps a delay in ciws prod means they will fit at karachi to prevent delays.

I am assuming it because F-280 left Turkey without it. While all other weapons were integrated already except for the SSMs. like main gun, SAMs, Smash guns.

So that's the only reason which made me assume it, otherwise I was expecting it to be fitted with Turkish CIWS like in istanbul class.

I was also thinking on apparently an unlikely choice that's type 1130 CIWS (not sure, even if its possible at first place, though it has independent radars so perhaps shouldn't be a prob.) Its China's latest gen CIWS, one of the fastest gun based CIWS currenly with 11K rpm. However, if RAM is available to PN then most obvious choice would be that one.

if im not mistaken, the SMASH didnt actually look operational, they didnt seem like a gun was actually fitted in, rather a blank/placeholder but i could be wrong.

The SSM mounts were there, in the same way the CIWS mounts are too.

RAM has been available, just per shot, its cost isnt far off of a camm shot

PNS BABUR (F-280), the lead ship of the BABUR (PN MILGEM) Class Corvettes, was spotted entering the Gölcük Naval Base before starting its maiden voyage to Pakistan.
