Bangladesh Air Force

Military corruption, incompetence and indifference are the biggest conspiracies here.
CIA is struggling to find any room for sabotage.

Need to immediately ground all other F7s. People are freaking out about BGI production discontinued in 2013. Most people don't even know that we have even older F7 variants in service at this moment.

Regardless of what the BAF chief is claiming to save face, there is something definitely wrong with BAF's supply chain, inspection and/or maintenance regimes.
The data is not publicly available but it is safe to claim BAF has a high rate of crash per flying hour overall across all aircraft types, given how little they fly (hours per pilot), how small the fleet size is yet how often they crash.

If you are reading between lines, there is a chance J10c and HQ9B procurement plan will be axed. Yes, India can't strongarm us into anything regarding our security policy anymore. But United States can. The actual clash of titians is here. This was always going to happen. If we had a strong economy we would have been able to fend this off. So, now either we compromise on the national security or the economy.

If we agree to US 'security concerns' it helps us save our economy in the short term. But leaves our security compromised permanently. The fact is, we won't have the ability to spend 5/7 billions straight from our pocket in next 7/8 years. Any large purchase would have to be on LoC. And None other than china would provide us with big loans in this regard. So basically, necessary high end capability aquisition will be propsoned by 8-10 years if we were to depend soley on our own capital. By then it would too late. By 2035 the regional and global security dynamics would incredibly unstable and dangerous. We are already way behind the curve. By then, we would simply fall off the chart. This is the decade where we build up our defensive capabilities to the necessary level. Any later than this, I am afraid won't have any time to prepare for what's to come when most of today's global institutions break down (it is alReady happening faster than many have anticipated) and everyone would be in it for themselves. So, i suggest we take the partial economic hit and don't compromise on our long term security. 'Cause economy will be right back on track in the long run regardless of U.S. tarrif if we could just get our internal reforms and policies right. However, I am not sure if our fairly novice IG has the wisdom and the vision to see this and more importantly has the backbone to deal with it. @LeonBlack08 @AbuShalehRumi @Arthur @Avicenna @Michael Corleone @Bengal71 et al.
This country is fucked given what we saw recently. Its too late to save this sinking ship

So, what would be left of BAF after you ground F-7s? I have heard that even the MiG-29 fleet is not fully operational due to engine issues, although I do not know how true it is. In any case, we are looking at BAF that exists as an organisation but not a force.

Nothing unfortunately apart from a few trainers, helis and drones.

The Migs are only there for the show now. They are grounded most of the time. Useless really. They were outdated platform when first acquired post Soviet fall. Got a little boost with mid life upgrades, but still not enough.

This air force has been choked to its death with malicious intent by the previous regimes (BAL, BNP and former dictator Ershad) to please "foreign master" in Delhi.

The rot in Bangladesh Air force started all the way back in 1970s. The entire force needs a restart.

I know BAF lost F-6s gifted by Pakistan to Bhola cyclone during Ershad's presidency. TBH, those jets weren't really a major technological addition to BAF but they nevertheless would have kept BAF up and running, although only for a while. But the incident shows how apathetic Ershad regime was towards BAF. Successive governments haven't fared well either. There would be or is a lot of pressure on the current government due to the recent crash, but I feel it will likely differ the issue to next elected government. So, probably no formal deals with anyone until sometime in 2026-2027.

Take it with a pich of a salt, but my source did tell me that a team from BD/BAF was to visit Pakistan to discuss JF-17 acquisition in May but the visit was disrupted by Pakistan-India war. I have no further details or even rumors on this. So, fingers crossed. However, I feel there is a slight reluctance in Pakistan - and perhaps even in China - because of the fear of RAW sponsered officials still embedded in the BD establishment and forces. But this could be surmounted in the end. Can't say what would be required for that.

Bangladesh did send their pilots to inspect jf17... but internal bureaucracy is probably the biggest hindrance for BAF to acquire any jets... not just jf17

Procurement fighter jets should be put on hold for now (if there any). We should direct our funds for layered air defense systems. SPAAG like Aselsan Gokdeniz, Point defense surface to air missile like CAMM/CAMM ER or Hisar, Anti ballistic missile capable area defense surface to air missile like Aster 30.

Robust, redundant long range AESA radar coverage and Electronic warfare capability should be taken very seriously.

We should have a fourth separate military arm for Cyber and psychological warfare.

Entire Bangladesh government is incompetent and filled with awami maggots. So whatever I said is wet dream...

The pilot should have eject3d the moment he lost control. The plane would have crashed at the airport parking and casualty would have been minimum but dude tried to save the airframe and did a go around with his controls down. Classic cuckold airforce and its cuckold mentality officers. Congrats you died and killed some kids too
Quoting your above post in the Uttara crash thread for general discussion on BAF incompetence:

Let us revisit a previous crash - an experienced Squadron Leader tries to pull off a double Barrell Roll whilst the aircraft was at descent close to the runway. He ended up damaging the engines and succumbing to his own stupidity in the river. BAF tried to spin the incident as a "heroic effort" by the pilot to direct the aircraft to the river in order to avoid civilian casualty (from a hazard he chose to create himself at the tax payer's expense):

Next time an emotional idiot claims BAF pilots to be "competent by default" citing achievements of MM Alam, Saiful Azam, etc. - point them to this incident.

If this is how a GD(P) Squadron Leader conducts himself, wonder how the rest of the organisation functions?
Some people wonder why I am so harsh in my criticism of BAF -this indicates why.
This organisation is rotten to the core. Believe that female Squadron Leader now, who took it to Youtube to blow the whistle?

Exactly. The yak 130 crash was purely avoidable. Dude was flying a fly by wire aircraft like its a hydraulic control aircraft.
