Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024

Hypothetically how would you “get involved on the ground” lmao

Very good question. We are already seeing the impact of social media in movements like the Arab Spring . In short, social media makes it much easier for a group like Pakistan that has been historically been separated by geographic or other boundaries to communicate and organise them. Disinformation smear campaign by us on social media is a significant threat to authoritarian rule there but I am sticking to my original post it is not Pakistan business to get involved in the faraway land. And avoid using terms like IMOA , lol, they are not necessary.

The demand looks genuine. But the way they are demanding is wrong. Use Gandhi's way. Hunger strike or sit peacefully somewhere in huge number and attract media.
They started peacefully than came BAL student wing Chatra League, they started beating beating protesting students, students started beating them,Govt dispatched Police and RAB for there goons help and all hell broke lose.Students are not backing down.It would be huge shit show if common people joined beside students.

Opposition and general public have now joined in. This is no longer about quota reform, this has turned into a full fledged anti-gov protest and rightfully so. Time for dialogue is up, time now for Hasina to step down.

This seems an attempt to legitimise 1971 actions by Paksiatn in a cheeky manner. It may be a good idea to let go of that and move on.

This flare up is purely an internal matter and Paksiatn has nothing to do with it. The reservation for people linked to that event, are their own skeletons. Probably instigated by pent up frustration over lack of jobs and poor governance.

Correct. This has nothing to do with Pakistan, but Hasina wanted to turn it into one as usual, by calling the protestors "Razakar" or collaborators of Pakistan army in 1971 - which is synonymous to "traitor" in Bangladesh. This insult sparked fire. These are average non-partisan students protesting for a just cause, but Hasina made it political.

This also shows the real face of BD economy contrary to Hasina and her BAL fanboys claims. All that BS about gdp and forex reserve for last few years is now proving to be fudged up and exposed to everyone. There is simply not enough jobs in Bangladesh for the number of graduates we have annually. So for a lot of people the govt jobs are coveted as they provide security and stability.

So if you have 56% quota reserved (almost all for BAL party loyalists) and candidates getting jobs because they bought public service job exam question papers through corruption (a massive scandal has unfolded just recently about a syndicate selling question papers), then essentially almost no one in BD public sector are getting jobs through based on merit. It's full of corrupt, immoral and unqualified party men.

And when you have public servants full of corrupt and unqualified people - you are headed towards becoming a basket case.

Please, spare us the nonesense. Hasina is the deep state and only state. She has everyone in control from Police to Army to DGFI. FYI - the current army chief is her cousin. Army officers loyal to her party had been selected and promoted for the last decade. There is no way an army officer could harbour anti-BAL sentiment and survive in the force.
