20 Union states fought against the armies of 11 confederate states for 4 years, about Seven hundred thousands soldiers lost their lives in that war, but the US was not allowed to break and soon rose as the most powerful nation in the world

So in the end it does not matter who is right or who is wrong, all that matters is that who is more powerful.
