Sorry my friend. Definitely not intended. A genuine question, that was all. No more, no less.
I can honestly reply and i want to reply, but what I'm afraid of is a certain turkish member will rush here like the Cool Aid jar and start spamming lists, photos and endless racial slurs to prove Turkish superiority.
But I'll reply, because your question is genuine.
In the '90s the Turkish Air Force was better than hours in terms of numbers and I think in large parts of the '90s,probably in aircraft quality. Throughout the 2000s,especially the mid-2000s onwards,Turkey had a quantitative advantage, while we maintained a slightly better qualitative one.
Now,I'm not gonna bore you with the details, but right now the Hellenic Air Force has
- More than 50 F-16Vs ready (out of an order of 84 to be upgraded)
- Around 38 F-16 Block 50
- Around 30-32 F-16 Block 30
- 24 Rafale F3R
- 24 Mirage 2000-5 Mk.II
- Some 33 RF-4E Phantom II PI2000
Turks rely heavily on a larger number of F-16s,mostly Block 30/40/50/50+ and some 30-48 Phantom II Terminator
Anyway, when it comes to fighters,at this current moment we have the qualitative advantage. The Turks have though have more and longer-range AWACS than we do.
We are waiting for 20 F-35s by 2028-2030 and the Turks are waiting for Eurofighters by 2030.
Now,if you thought Turks will react on the above, take a look at this:
Greek pilots have been consistently ranked among NATO's best. Certain Turkish members will go on a rampage at this. When it comes to history too,Turks have had more combat losses than Greeks. Greek aircraft sometimes crashed because of intense dogfights against Turks or because of Turkish pilot's irresponsible and idiotic maneuvers. Of course,Turkish pilots have died in similar situations trying to escape getting locked.
However,TuAF jets have been shot down by: HAF,Syrian Air Defences,Iraqi Air Force and Cypriot Bofors 40.
