China float the idea of joint security force to secure CPEC projects

This was bound to happen one day. China won't compromise on its economic and strategic interests around the region. Gwadar is a backdoor/alternate route for China in case things on its Pacific side or South China Sea go bad. Also China must be a bit frustrated at the on going instability and insurgency in Balochistan and KPK which are part of the CPEC routes (that frustration might not be limited towards Pak govt. but the armed forces as well and many time Chinese authorities to "Do more").

I won't be surprised if China is already providing intelligence support to Pakistan armed forces and maybe in future Chinese warships will be stationed in Gwadar port.

Michael , you should be careful about what you post here ......I don't know about your source of information but the Pakistanis on PDF believe what you say is a gospel truth
What happened? I don't know anything................

On the possible direction of co-operation between China and Pakistan on CPEC security issues:
1, Intelligence support.
2.Weapons support.
3. Personnel training.
So, in the future, PLA may send personnel to Pakistani military bases. But PLA will never directly send troops to participate in any counter-terrorism operations inside Pakistan. The situation you fear will never arise!

As for whether a PLA naval base will be established in Gwadar port, it depends on both Chinese and Pakistani governments. The main purpose of this naval base, is to provide support for PLA's military activities in the Indian Ocean and the Middle East; as well as to help defend Pakistan's maritime security. It will not be directly involved in Pakistan's internal counter-terrorism operations.

There is actually a better way to go about CPEC security - Chinese security companies. However, Chinese security companies are currently severely restricted by Chinese law and need to be implemented only after the law is amended.
Currently, a large number of Chinese companies investing overseas have security problems. Several large Chinese security companies are jointly requesting the National People's Congress to change the law. But this will take time.
Good to know sense and perspective of the greater picture will prevail.

The framework of the naval cooperation though should be coached in the language of the 4 “foundational agreements” the US and India signed, especially the logistical support agreement.

But this will draw attention, and require more Chinese support in economic and military means to weather the impact.

Pakistan Army and ISI is busy in dealing with Imran Khan and PTI then dealing Indian terrorism in Pakistan. US is keeping ISI busy with Imran Khan while the Indian commit terrorism in Pakistan. The Taliban regime who were darling of Pakistan Army are also sending terrorists in Pakistan. Looks like there will be more Indian terrorism in Pakistan targeting Chinese while Pakistanis Generals plan for their Pizza franchises in US after their retirement.
