The aircraft number of Chengdu's sixth-generation prototype aircraft that made its first flight was "3601," and the accompanying J-20S was "2035."
We are also curious about the pod that appears to be for data collection or photography on the J-20S, but if we think about it simply, the next-generation prototype is called 3601, which means that the official name is planned to be J-36.
For the time being, this account will be temporarily named J-36 until new information is confirmed.

Looks China has beaten the USA in flying two 6th Gen planes, and gone into the history books with its achievements.
NGAD is having cost overrun and design issues with the airforce and navy now pursuing different programmes. The Americans may catch up once they have resolved their technology issues and also show off a prototype for its testing programme,

Dear I sincerely advise you to stop behaving like Indians. This is a Chinese 6th Gen thread, and everyone here is interested in learning more about Chinese 6th Gen aircraft. Please post NGAD information in the appropriate NGAD thread. If an NGAD thread doesn't exist, you can create a separate one. You can also create a thread for comparing different 6th Gen jets. However, please avoid bringing off-topic discussions here, even if you feel someone is trying to dragging the conversation in that direction.

If this is true, then it's absolutely insane.
It means that China, atleast outwardly in public, is outpacing the US in terms of next gen development.
We all already knew that once 6th gen is under development, everyone would be on their own, and no amount of "espionage" would help develop things along, as there's nothing worth stealing.
In that case, China could be on pace to not just match, but exceed the US in terms of developing and adopting next gen fighter technology.
Would I be right in that assessment?
To be clear, that doesn't necessarily mean that Chinese tech is automatically better than the US, but rather they're the first fly and potentially the first to induct the gen type, so they get to define the class's basic characteristics.

Someone please correct me, I think I read a post, few years ago by Yang Wei (if I recall correctly) based on his interview. In this interview, he discussed the concept of an 'aircraft family' for the Next Generation Fighter. If this is the case, we might see several different 6th-generation aircraft designed for specific roles, rather than just two or three types.
@Michael @Deino Do you guys remember or have any information about this or something similar?
What I found so far is this:
In an interview with China Daily, Yang Wei, the chief designer of the J-20, stated that designers will develop variants of the radar-evading J-20 and will open research on its successor – a sixth-generation fighter jet.
