Counter Terrorism Department (CTD)

People my friend, its all about the people, lots of informants around Karachi who pass intel to Intelligence agencies, because people don't want terrorism in their cities, unfortunately we can't say the same for many cities in Pakistan where Terrorism thrives and spread its web and fully embedded in the social fabric.

more than people, explosives used here (seems so), were not very specific.

more generic the explosive, the less intelligence ca help us

besides, if money gets involved, I dont think, any security agency, will find hard to break such a network

Agencies can only work if the people show zero appetite for Terrorism, I mean terrorists are running cells which include common people, lets not forget that behind every terrorists attack there is a whole network, not just the bomber who blast himself. His training, funds, his transport and shelter he gets, someone drive him to location/target, provide weapons etc, Reason why other countries are safer than Pakistan because their people have accountability and no appetite for Terrorism and other BS, moment they see or hear something suspicious they report to LEA's, in Pakistan a Terrorist can drive from Afghanistan to KPK, he will have a Grooms welcome, than he will be transported with explosive in Bus or truck controlled by certain people, who will also arrange a shelter for the terrorists to stay until the attack, bonds of race and tribal affiliations are always above innocent lives and national security, hence we see many terrorist attacks.

Exactly this

Terrorism can happen anywhere, but if locals understand they have a duty to report suspicious behavior and they are determined not to see terrorism in the local areas then they will oppose it

This will lead to leads and information to follow and tragedy will be averted

As you say Karachi has been saved a number of times because of people's willingness to support security services to protecting themselves and their city

Go to tribal areas or parts of Balochistan, and it's faces like donkeys, with the intelligence of donkeys,
Hear nothing, say nothing, do nothing
Then cry afterwards when their areas are violent and infested with terrorism and insecurity

this is tribal culture, if he is even my distant relative, I wont care about his deeds!

but, this can be solved, people of Pak. are very patriotic.

we only need to identify, factors, which can stop this bias for the ones, who come from the other side of the border to create chaos. But, this would need a very honest mind

Bhai I am fighting this battle and i will die on this hill that if people of KPK/Baluchistan decide enough of this terrorism and give their full non BS support to Army, TTP and BLA will be gone within months if not weeks.
To my surprise the people of Baluchistan did not fall for BLA's recent attack, they wanted to create a sense of uprising and hope people of Baluchistan will join them to take over cities, but instead people just went hope and avoid gathering which help Army cleaning up the streets of Baluchistan and killed over 100 BLA scums.
Now just recently we have seen different style attacks in KPK, how many protests you hear or see happening in different parts of KPK ? ZERO... its like people don't care anymore, now with this attitude you think that people will report suspicious activities? specially when religion and tribalism is involved? Nope, not happening... like you said, hear nothing, say nothing and do nothing but keep complaining.

The Tribalism needs to be outlawed, period. The people loyalty should be with their state after that Tribe or whatever, but this is not practical in Pakistan unfortunately, hence we will keep seeing the violence. I am just glad that 2 major Terrorists attacks are foiled in Karachi, let these animals off Karachi.

I understand your POV!

but, one has to realize, some one living near the border regions of our country, has nothing from the state to live his daily life!

there is no water, no natural gas, no schools, no hospital and as a result no jobs. So, tribalism will remain here, unless, we can give people money to cultivate their land.

this is more complicated bec. all the landlords belong to estab. no matter which gov. is in and banks are also owned by such establishment.

I once spoke to branch manager of Gilgit city, he told in winters, he would get no electricity. I was shocked, he told life there was very miserable.

then, there are people in the economic circles who believe, tribal belts should be taxed. They cannot be more wrong.

the way I see, it each province should have their own current currency and tax system

Technically I have no issue with Tribalism as per say, my problem is that when people misuse or abuse tribal ties to harbor terrorism, you want to be proud of your tribe and race be my guest, Allah said in Quran we have made you in Tribes so you can identify one another, there is not much more about it, Islam is something to be proud of and Later being a Pakistan, if you hate the country has no given you anything by all means do hate your country and leave if you have better opportunities in a different country, no one is stopping people. But when you live in Pakistan, and then Harbor terrorists and elements that cause harm to not only your state but its innocent civilians and kids, who have nothing to do with military operations or anything that's when my problem begins, and when people do nothing to even address the problem rather than just keep beating around the bush, point the discussion in random totally non relevant directions that's when i know that people are doing BS.

People have issues, everywhere in Pakistan, I can take you to places in Karachi where people are living over a literally sewerage canal or aka Naala, there are kids who grow up in poverty and never see inside of a school, but they grow up to become electricians or plumbers or labors not terrorists or join internationally recognized terrorists groups or carry loads and loads of explosive to kill innocent civilians.
For far too long Tribalism has kept people from being civilized, you can't just make schools and shopping malls and hope that people will change, people only change when they realize they have a problem and its needs to be fixed, unfortunately we have 2 states which doesn't see any issues within its own social ranks rather they blame everyone else for their misery but themselves.

I'd say, this is very boxed and shallow approach.

this the reason of our mess.

let me ask you a very frank question.

if you are world's leading physicist or tax professional or tax advisor or economist who has worked in IMF for 35 years....how should you approach this problem?

current way (adopted by these so called professionals like zaidis', haque, khaqans, Mr. Black Hole physics!)

there is no way to resolve this problem unless military gives away powers!

now, my questions to you and so called professionals is:

1. in China, there was a social cohesion issue in the society, likes of which world had never seen before, they solved that without democracy!

2. fully tribal societies like Vietnam managed to defeat the USA

3. Japan found its feet from the worst feudalism in the world!

how come, all of that is possible, in such societies, science was virtually non-existent then, how come they managed to come up!

reason:

in this world, best finance professionals are physicists, chemists, watch makers, and diamond jewelers. Why is that?

bec. problem solving requires basic understanding of the inherent issues found at atomic core, which can only be understood if one is trained to think like that

solution:

ask your best physicist and chemists, to fix:

1. the economy 2. social cohesion

in those tribal belts. Ask them to do research and do pilot projects to improve each District or Division one by one. Frankly, if any of these so called professionals says no, throw them out of the country!

I found your post, honestly, of very low intellect (which I dont expect from you), that is the problem with living in cities

14 suspected militants killed during CTD operations in Quetta, Barkhan

Abdullah Zehri
February 18, 2026

QUETTA: The Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday said a total of 14 suspected militants were killed in separate security operations in Quetta and Barkhan districts.

In a statement, the CTD said eight armed men were killed during a security operation in Quetta’s Darakhshan area.

“Eight armed persons were killed in a fire exchange during the operation,” read the statement, adding that three CTD personnel were injured during the action.

According to the CTD, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed miscreants. It noted that the dead individuals were said to be from a banned outfit.

In a separate statement, the CTD said “six terrorists were killed in a fire exchange” during an intelligence-based operation in Barkhan.

“All security personnel remained safe,” it stated, adding that arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants.

“The terrorists were involved in the planning of disruptive actions,” the CTD said, reaffirming to continue its efforts to eliminate terrorism.

So they don't have anything, so they bomb and destroy any attempt at development and then complain their is no development

What you are saying they are trying to BLACKMAIL us through violence, either give them what they want or they will murder and destroy

If blackmail works, then what's to stop them from making more and more unacceptable demands and threaten violence if we don't agree???

yes there is that also, but, that does not make state, unaccountable to others!

after all, what is state doing, if groups are blackmailing!

dare I say, state is involved with these groups.

that is the problem, no one speaks about openly. Mind you, who rules and has ruled KPK is an open secret!

*here state means, local MPAs and local civil beau.
