You don’t just engage in aerial combat with your aircraft and formations and that’s it. Advanced air warfare incorporates active seeking and awareness as well as tracking and data transfer through complex systems to ensure kills. How do you lose some of the best aircrafts the way they did??? It heavily implies that iaf was either incompetent on their part, or they simply don’t have a networked system like how the paf has utilized and demonstrated its effectiveness. Combine that with missile tech that already outclasses the amraam D missile. AND an excellent marvel of Chinese aeronautic engineering such as the j10c.
French weapon stocks have taken a beating because of India’s poor usage of the rafale, not the jet having major problems themselves. I know damn well France was fuming due to Indian incompetence when that French official confirmed the downing of the rafale. Then 2 more casualties reported after that incident. Not only that but an iaf su30 and mig29 have both been downed as well. What does that tell you? Not a good look at all to say the least.
Arguably one of the biggest failures in modern air combat where state of the art tech is used for the first time.

Rafale or not..The neutralization of the Awacs was not an option but rather a pivotal tactical necessity. Its high radar imprint (RCS) and its constant radiation makes it a attractive passive point for any advanced ESM system. What Pakistan - most likely - did is the implementation of a coordinated electronic chain that began to monitor the AWACS fingerprint passively, and pass its accurate coordinates (4D) immediately to EA, which led to the isolation of Indian fighters from the air command center.
Then the fighters lost their network cover, and became "blind" in a battlefield running in kilowatts and waves before the missiles. Pakistan took advantage of this moment and pushed advanced BVR platforms equipped with PL-15 missiles capable of killing out the opponent's combat awareness.
But the most important thing is that the PL-15 is nothing but the spearhead in an integrated series of capabilities: a passive long-range detection, advanced electronic support, penetration of communications signals, and perhaps even disturbing the spectrum set for Indian command systems.
Conclusion: Whoever controls the electromagnetic spectrum ... controls the sky. It appears that the Pakistanis were the ones who controled the "right wave at the right time".

but we are still not sure about the J10 deal with Egypt though, I thought they scrambled the deal and went for Korean trainer fighter jet.

The maneuverability of the Rafale fighter jet is indeed excellent, but its electronic warfare system and radar system are far inferior to those of the J-10C.
This makes it quite passive in modern air combat, especially in beyond-visual-range air combat. This is also why the Rafale was comprehensively suppressed by the J-10C in the air combat between India and Pakistan.
The four largest overseas buyers of the Rafale fighter jet are India, Egypt, Indonesia and the UAE. This is because these four countries still haven't understood that the essence of a new generation of air combat is beyond-visual-range air combat.
The Rafale is already the top fighter jet in Europe, but the J-10 ranks only fourth or fifth among China's currently active fighter jets. China's strongest fighter jet is the J-20, followed by the J-16, and then the J-15T. Some even rank the J-11BG ahead of the J-10C.
All these aircraft possess extremely strong electronic warfare capabilities, super-powerful radars, and correspondingly excellent missiles. The latest missile currently in active service in China is the PL-17, whose range is far greater than that of the PL-15, which in turn is far greater than that of the PL-15E.

They’re getting both, trainers and committed advanced aircraft are 2 different platforms for specified objectives. The deal was already concluded before the aerial trainings took place. But if I didn’t for any reason, you can be rest assured it’s now going through based on how superior situational and intel war have given pak j10s the advantage

Is because India invested in platforms and Pakistan invested in kill chains and trained their pilots accordingly on a connected system
So India had French Rafael's and Mirage 2000s,
Russian Su30s and Mig 29s, Mig 21s
Tejas in the background somewhere
And a hodge podge of Israeli, American, indians, European weapons are equipment
And they thought they were strong until Pakistan SLAMMED the IAF on 7th May, the IAF has since gone into hiding
Why?????
Because the arrogance of a shiny western platform means nothing, if you don't have the correct weapons, equipment, AWACs, ground support and radars and Electronic Warfare systems all working together and LINKED
Thats what Pakistan was able to achieve on a much more limited budget and everyone can see the results
Pakistani pilots are also trained and drilled mercilessly and we partake in multiple exercises with multiple air forces every year
I see Egypt with its array of platforms, limited BVR capabilities, money being thrown at this that and the other with questionable thought on whether all these different platforms and equipment can work together going the India way, rather then the Pakistan way and Egypt will face the same consequences if it's not careful

Different purpose. If we sign the FA-50, it will be to replace the old K-8 and AlphaJet but J-10CE to counterbalance the IAF (replacing the old Mirage 2K, F-16 etc....).

1, this India-Pakistan air war, the nature of the systematic air war and non-systematic air war between the competition. The ability of the fighter jets themselves is somewhat relevant, but not the core factor of victory.
From the Pakistani released IAF pilot recordings, IAF air combat command system completely rely on “yelling”, without any advanced communication can be said. Fighters have been destroyed, teammates actually still call in the communication channel, until they see the fireball to confirm that their teammates have been destroyed. PL-15E missile attack, the warning system did not respond to any ......
Of course, I am not saying that the Rafale's communication system is backward. But we can be sure that the IAF's communication system is extremely primitive.
2, there is a difference in the initial positioning of the Rafale and the J-10C that makes it difficult to compare them purely on a technical level.
3, Other Rafale players around the world are basically similar to India in that they do not have a well integrated air combat command system. However, there are not many countries in the world that have a perfect integrated air combat command system like Pakistan. So, they don't have to worry excessively about this issue either. These countries, too, are currently finding it difficult to set up the system in a short period of time. This is not a problem that can be solved by buying J-10CE from China. They will not be able to fully utilize the capabilities of J-10CE + PL-15E even if they buy J-10CE.
It seems you have some misunderstanding about the J-11BG.
The J-11BG is better than the J-16 in terms of air combat capability alone.
These two fighters have a clear division of labor. the J-11BG focuses on air combat; the J-16 focuses on multi-mission. They have a lot of similarities in their basic underpinnings, but different design mission divisions.
So, please don't doubt the capability of J-11BG, it is much better than J-10C.
Currently there are not enough J-11BGs. Not all J-11Bs have been upgraded to J-11BGs, there are still some J-11Bs that have not been modified and upgraded. The number of new J-11BGs produced is also very small.SAC's main production capacity is given to J-16 and J-15T.

Incompatibility issue will be a big headache in the future.
However, Egypt would have to pour more money into China related platform, and ditch those American/European/Russian platforms in its current inventory.
Unless Egypt decides to become China's close ally like Pakistan.
France sold India those incompatible Rafale jets just to reap more money.
However, China's weapon sale is bundled with commitment.
Just like Pakistan is exclusively using the Chinese platform in the future, and China has always been working hard with Pakistan to create a sub-ecosystem designed for Pakistan that's closely linked to China's ecosystem.
If Egypt is not willing to fully integrate into China's ecosystem, the standalone J-10C and PL-15 would not be that useful.

I agree, I like Egypt,
Egypt is vital for the middle east, if Egypt is strong then they have a guardian for the middle east
Rather then being constantly attacked to protect those evil little Zionists
The west and Russia were on the same page via and via Israel, that Israel is some holy cow that must be protected
The Jews had their tentacles in those countries elites
China is free , I'm sure Chinese don't hate Jews
But at the same time as a business minded people , the Chinese understand they can get more and better deals from a massive middle east compared to a tiny Israel
And when china sells you a platform, you can negotiate a good deal and proper support
All the west gave them was overpriced gimped weapons
Israel is pitting this Hodge podge of different platforms that don't really connect,, against a U.S supported Israel
It will end the same way as it did for the Indians
Egyptians need to streamline
Work out how everything connects and works together
Concentrate on EW and AWACs support
Get rid of a bunch of useless russian and western platforms
Work with chinax get a honest deal and access to weapons that will work when the time comes
The west just got a massive wake up call of what China has been able to achieve and they are worried
