The development and modernization of the Egyptian naval forces will not stop until the desired goal of transforming into a blue navy is achieved. The naval forces are still striving for a lot and aiming to add more qualitative capabilities in the coming years, including submarines with conventional propulsion (diesel/electricity) of the French Barracuda class. The ability to operate in deep waters, which Egypt seeks to obtain with 4 to 6 submarines with qualitative armament represented by French MCDN cruise missiles, according to what the Africa Intelligence website reported earlier.

Egypt also plans to acquire new AOR supply and fuel ships to support and enhance the Egyptian fleet’s logistical capabilities in line with the ongoing expansion of surface vessels.
