First specs of Turkish AC project

I thought Turkey was going to become superpower in 2023 and Lausanne treaty would expire :ROFLMAO:

You clowns never cease to amaze me.

What will happen in the next 10-15 years? Will the Turkish poplulation reach 500 million? Will the GDP reach 15 Trillion $ ?

I swear every time I read one of your verbal masturbations I lose a few brain cells. I'm a very creative guy but I'm running out of insults at this level of stupidity.

Most of the Turkish navy is 30+ years old Junk. We're still sailing with OHP frigates in 2024. We don't have enough money for the STM MPAC but you want this mockery of an "aircraft carrier"

Why? to brag. nothing more.

@Waz

Please ban this guy for all of our sanity's sake.
If you can shed some light on the geopolitical situation of Turkiye in 10-15 years? What Turkiye need to focus on today and in future?

I think it's too early for the Turkish navy to have an aircraft carrier. We don't have the aircraft to put on an aircraft carrier. We only have TB3 and Kizilelma. There is no way Kaan can land on an aircraft carrier. There are no Tf-2000 air destroyers to protect the carrier.

In 20 years, we may think of an aircraft carrier, but such statements now call into question the seriousness of the Turkish defense industry.

Turkey is very volatile and unpredictable and nobody knows whatpost-erdogan political atmosphere will be like but if the current trends continue, I'm a bit pessimistic.

On the military side of things, right now the Turkish military is still run by people who were educated in the old system of military high schools and war academies. When that changes I expect a sharp drop in officer quality.

On the defence industry side, we can see how land systems development stalled and that branch of the industry became very stagnant. I expect the same in other fields. Once we start to believe we're good at something, we move on to other things. We don't keep innovating.

it's pretty shameful if you can make nuclear weapons but not a simple pressurized water reactor.

But both India and Turkey's biggest problem is that the carrier based fighter options are so shitty.
We have made one for our nuclear submarine, 4 of them would generate enough to run a 65000 tons AC, our problem is the money part.
The carrier will gulp up $10-$12 Billion dollars

a poor country like India has no business spending that kind of money on "power projection"

Especially if it's STOBAR garbage I'm sorry.

Turkiye 100% needs Aircraft Carrier

Why ?

Because , Turkiye becomes global power again in the next 10-15 years

with over $2 trillion of GDP
with its own defense industry full of self sufficiency
with military Bases in Qatar , Somalia , Libya , etc

This Aircraft Carrier is for the vision of the next 10-15 years , according to its 2015 strategic outlook statement

1--
Turkiye views as its maritime periphery, such as Cyprus, Libya, Qatar, and the Black Sea

2-- The most ambitious forum for Turkiye’s proactive security policies lies on the Horn of Africa

For the last decade, private Turkish interests have helped bolster growing military and commercial ties with the governments of Djibouti, Sudan, and Somalia

3-- Protecting Turkİiyes trade and energy interests has also exercised an increasingly strong influence over its current strategic planning

because with more than 87% of Turkiye’s trade conducted via maritime ports of entry, and a number of transnational pipelines passing through Turkish territorial waters

The Turkish Navy aims at becoming a major global force by 2033

for example

to protect Turkish military Bases in strategic allies such as Qatar , Somalia and Libya

1-- France many times threatened Turkiye to send its Aircraft Carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean

2-- Gulf States threated Qatar to close Turkish military Base

3-- Multi national alliance attacked Libyan goverment in Tripoli to make a coup to destroy releationship between Turkiye and Libya

without Carrier Strike Group , Turkiye can not protect national interests in the Eastern Mediterranean , Libya , Qatar , Somalia and the Horn of Africa

Even S.Korea owns 3 Carriers with F-35s
İndia owns 2 Carriers

Why not Turkiye which has great interest and influence area from Adriatic to İndian Ocean

Turkish Government and Armed Forces very well knows what about Power Projection
and without Aircraft Carrier .. Turkish Navy is a lame Duck

Turkey can also "export" aircraft carriers to countries like KSA, UAE, Malaysia etc..

We will speak when your Garbage tin can can float like our warships.

IMHO STOBAR = Garbage ...simple as

It can go down in a single torpedo salvo and take 40-50 planes with it along with 500 people on board. And what capability does it bring? planes taking off with limited fuel and payload, barely good enough for CAP missions.

India should invest into the well being of their own people.

So should Pakistan but at least I can understand Pakistan's concerns, they have borders with Afghanistan, a lawless hellhole and India a much bigger country with historic animosity.

What is India afraid of? China? China won't even attack Taiwan.

Turkey can also "export" aircraft carriers to countries like KSA, UAE, Malaysia etc..
KSA hates us, UAE isn't interested in an AC (do they even have enough sailors to crew one?) and Malaysia has half the GDP of Turkey.

All of our customers are relatively poor countries.

No They don't.

UAE isn't interested in an AC (do they even have enough sailors to crew one?)

One of the reasons as to why they are interested in the Turkish design is b/c of the drone carrier concept, that as of right now is unique. TB3 sales have been discussed as well.

Yes they do

And we still haven't landed a TB3 on TCG Anadolu while Americans and brits have Already done it so...

They don't. they just bought $3-5 Billion worth of Bayraktar drones.

Even when relations were bad, the beef was between Turkey and UAE, not really much with Saudi.

The TB3 will take off eventually from tcg anadolu, It should happen in the coming months this year. I wouldn't be too worried, UAE already operates the TB2 its more likely to go with the TB3 for commonality.

Those that are poor won't stay poor for ever. And those who are not on good terms may turnout to be good friends in future. In geopolitics and with this much volatile global political environment you can't be certain of anything.

But then again we are talking of a future that may not occur

What are the current trends that makes you pessimistic?
What I can see is Erdogan is following sovereign foreign policy which can only get better in both ways
1 if post-Erdogan policy shift to more appeasing toward west, Turkiye will get good incentives
2 if the same policy continues, sovereign policy is always a good thing to have.
