The establishment decapitated PTI. Why are we surprised that the party has been hijacked by treasonous snakes? Thats a direct response to the faujeets pissing on the largest mandate in Pakistan’s history. Nothing happens in a vaccum.

Did the cipher exist - Yes.

Was the PTI government wrong in publicizing the cipher - Yes.

Was the establishment at the forefront of driving the VoNC - Yes.

Was the opposition right in tabling the VoNC - Yes.

Was there supposed to be elections 90 days after - Yes.

Were the subsequent national elections free and fair - No.

I wouldn’t blame the opposition ie the PDM during the time for doing what they did. They were constitutionally correct in doing what they did.

The culprits are the establishment for their games they play time and again. They just don’t learn. Eventually, in the end, Pakistan suffers.

That's correct.

People should ask why did Cartoon-e-Azam Imran Khan drag General Qamar Javed Bajwa into politics to such an extent that he was asking him to act against the opposition for nearly 4-years.

When the General finally had enough and said no more, Cartoon-e-Azam Imran Khan had a meltdown.
 
Multi party democracy doesn't work in Pakistan, doesn't matter who it is, whether the feudal families of Bhutto or Sharif or an ex cricketer. We simply don't have the culture, informed populace, or independent institutions to support it. It's like trying to impose democracy in places like Iraq or Afghanistan, it won't work. There needs to be some sort of security council comprising elected officials based on public service, a president and cabinet, along with the military, a hybrid system. This avoids the fractious politics along feudal/tribal lines and avoids the military being forced to step in when the corrupt politicians screw up.

I wouldn’t blame the PMLN or PPP folks.

Shahbaz, for example was given an ultimatum by Bajwa (Army Chief) he will be chosen to be a PM if he splits up with Nawaz Sharif sometimes in 2018. He chose not to, probably a good decision during the time.

They however were on the same page post VoNC.

This PTI vs PPP vs PMLN mud slinging is a futile exercise. The problem lies elsewhere.

Seeing Pakistan in 2026, nothing has been working.

Civilian supremacy, hybrid, establishment driven, martial, direct military rule.

Only thing left is Islamist party rule. But one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out whether this would work or not.

You guys do understand the legal implications of this ? They are trying to put Khan away for a long long time could even kill him (less likely)... The timing is near perfect...

One who giveth, taketh away!

The real takeaway isn't the over reach instead how each played the opportunity. In return everyone got to learn the real brokers behind the scenes. That deal hasn't changed... ideally they would have wanted him to play along... as everyone before him... who was propped up and then the rug was pulled they moaned and groaned... came back to make another deal with the brokers. The cycle continued... it was the same story in the 80's, 90's and onwards... it is why no one completed their terms... it is why they joined hands to ask for full terms... that were allowed post Musharraf.
The real problem isn't even that ... it is the fact that none represent a real constituency. They made the deal... got propped up and in similar way undone. People had a lot more sentimental moments with the former PM... but during his term he'd been an equal parts disaster... everyone around him was propped up... the Punjab premier, largest province by population, was seat filler.

So what happened? When the pressure came... they pulled the plug... and eventhough popular sentimental support remained his own hodgpodge of a party never stood it's own, nor had the weight...
On the rest I agree with you...
until there is real grounded representation that is natural and organic... there would be sock puppets propped up and sacked!
