Blinken and Israel want to continue being stubborn with Gaza and isolate it from rest of world. Their plan in Gaza is long term and US will put pressure on Israel to not attack Lebanon. They want to occupy Gaza for the long term and change its status until region agrees to expel its residents.

On other hand, they are annoyed by Hezbollah disrupting the process in a measured way and ability to do so for long term with current rules of equation, while retain ability to intervene on greater scale in future. This frustrates Israel and may be a reason they seek a larger assault on Lebanon. But I'm sure Iran-led axis has a way to counter this and that's what worries Blinken and the Jewish-American community. Is Israel will get worn down in a war of attrition.

Right now they're trying to exterminate Palestinians through all means possible, and trying to get most land/death destruction out of this without crossing threshold of regional war. So it's simply Jewish selfishness and power/bloodlust, and most important extreme hatred of Palestinians that's allowing this to go on in the way it is.
