India is incomplete without Pakistan: Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee

However you did need to exert control over Bangladesh, to stifle the innate desires of those people for self determination - in short, vassalisation was the preferred option.
Quite an ironic statement from about Bangladesh's self determination given the history.
Now why would India want Pakistan to be a vassal? Neighbors of India vastly depend on trade with India, and receive our largesse but it's not like they don't have options. India was simply the least bad option.
India's neighbourhood is surrounded by destitute states that falls into a cycle of bad economic run every ten years. If we make Pakistan our vassal we will be bailing you out for years to come. Even as a vassal we wouldn't want you because we frankly couldn't afford you. Only China can rollover debts and forgive billions in interest. So a vassal Pakistan will also be a drag, a hostile one is rather profitable. Much like Bangladesh, a hostile BD seems to be working wonders for our textil industry.

PS: You talked about not adding people cuz of Muslims and what not, what about the land? It's not like you have oil and gas either.

That is so not true. A 2022 Gallup International Association survey reported that 18% of Indians did not believe in God, encompassing both atheists and agnostics. The issue across the sub continent is that while these countries are trying to get their literacy rates up, no one is really focusing on the quality of education and most importantly developing critical thinking skills. A lot of urban Indians who grew up during the 90s and went to good private schools are already religion agnostic. They are the ones who are fighting it out against BJP's Hindutva ideology.

Atheism and Agnocitism should be classified as religion unto themselves for starters and both these school of thoughts are considered dharmic or whatever. I cannot comment upon sectarian feuds in India, its a topic far too alien to me.

How about the "vassal" states of Sikkim, Goa, Bhutan, Pondicherry, Daman Diu, Dadar -Nagar Haveli, Chandan Nagore, Junagadh, Lakshadweep, Andaman-Nicobar, Sentinel, and Indian Occupied Kashmir, and Ladakh . How much do these territories need bail outs and how much do they contribute to India's economy?
Just curious... if you have any data.
( Note: I have left out the city of Hyderabad because it is the domain of Mullah Owaisi)

Why would India want Pakistan to be a vassal? I guess you overlooked the title of the thread based on the statement of the Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ( the current Vishwaguru's mentor).
"India is incomplete without Pakistan "

Why ?
Ask the Vishwaguru.

Idiotic argument. India decolonized the territories like Goa, Pondicherry, Daman et al and removed the French or Portuguese colonizers much like the British in Andaman Nicobar. Sikkim voted to join into India and is happy to be part of the union, zero issues from there even now.
No point in discussing j&k it's been discussed to death.

Pakistan is not something we aspire. You can sell this story in different ways but ain't no one want to add Pakistan to India.
Note: Old City is the domain of Owaisi it's a small part of the city and it's a dump. Hyderabad City the larger area on the otherhand is Cosmopolitan, wealthy and presentable and Owaisi has zero hold over it.

I would suggest you read the "idiotic " question once again . . which was how much these territories contribute to the Indian economy and how much bailout is needed.
Also we are not discussing J & K ( actually it is Kashmir and Ladakh now) to "death". Since it is a vassal territory.. just a rough figure how much the territory of Kashmir ( we can leave out Ladakh) contributes to the Indian economy and how much bailout is needed.

I said I left Hyderabad out, though it is debatable if Cyberabad, Gacchibawli, and Kondapur contribute more in foreign exchange earnings or the "poor " districts in the Charminar Area where every family has at least one member employed in the GCC countries with considerable sums of foreign exchange remittances. Do you have any comparable data? The comparison would be interesting.

On Pakistan:
Could you answer my question to you in the post below?

Post in thread 'India is incomplete without Pakistan: Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee'

( Note : Double negatives don't enhance the argument . You don't say "aint no one who would want", but "there is no one who would want ... " or "there isn't anyone who would want ".. . Answer to that is the Vishwaguru's mentor Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted Pakistan . )

An answer to those who say India has no imperialist ambitions:
To those who don't understand Hindi a detailed translation will be given,
Basically Atal Bihari Vajpayee said India's Independence is incomplete and he will reunite Pakistan back into India. and he mentions some provinces of Pakistan by name.

Flaying Pakistan for its continued interference in Kashmir, he remarked, "The fact is that the war is not for Kashmir but for the Pakistani psyche; and until they cease to think that Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir, this will not come to an end."

Here, while he referred to his talks with Sharief during the course of his stay in Lahore, Vajpayee recalled, "I told the Pakistani prime minister to realise what would come out of this in case we also started thinking that India is incomplete without Pakistan.

Pakistan is closer to a century, before you know it.

The people who once had memories or associations probably going very quickly

For what reason would the rest of the Indians truly want Pakistan again.

The last 20 years of modi has validated Pakistan to even the most liberal of liberals.

That being said, you could never discount a blunder someone who sells out

We are now happy that they are free.

We want them to continue to pursue independence.

They were part of Pakistan once.

Presently, they are vassals of India. But it can and will change, soon enough.

As for your "land" argument, I doubt you would want all this irradiated territory following the Kirana Hills incident.

India (and Indians) in general don't want to touch Pakistan with a five-foot pole (make it 10 actually). There are a few poor, obnoxious and "obsessed" Indians like me whose curiosity gets better of them despite the racial vile vitriol thats spewed on 1/8th the humanity (without any proof I might add)

The racial vitriol is in the poetry of your Prime Minister.

This thought was died in kargil war and the Last hope for any peaceful settlement between the both the countries

Would love to see a poll to see how many Indians would want Pak as part of India.
Of course it will poll low here, but on the ground in India, it will poll very high.
