Super news, how does this change the fact no Tejas MK1A has been delivered this year so far?

As i predicted a few weeks ago, now all talk will be of Tejas MK2 and AMCA.

MK1A having a quiet death even on this forum....

Dropping Derby. THEY FAILED to integrate it into SU-30 and Tejas. Nw you have to go through another round of integration with a new unproven missile. Only Indians can spin bad news as good.

If we didn't like them we could easily induct derby meteore or next gen russian missiles..

We are building indengious weapons right across the full spectrum and exporting as well

Derby on Sukhoi 30 has already been achieved

It was revealed on Twitter in 2022

It was an interim measure and a Limited Order till Astra Production stabilised

This decision means that Now we will soon achieve the Induction of 160 KM Range Astra MK 2

It clearly states in the article that inetgration of Derby ER into SU-30 and Tejs has been dropped.

Basically no modern BVR on SU-30/Tejas till astra integration complted

Anyday better than having to run to big daddy even to fit a new rear view mirror in a fighter that one calls a "JV". Leave alone a new Block or anything even remotely close to a bigger variant or a totally clean sheet design.
