India scrapped IWT.
What are the next options for Pakistan?

Simply put, India now controls the tap
So the jist is, Indians CAN block our waters and we cant do anything about it legally or diplomatically, short of a war?Under the cover of run-of-river projects on the Chenab and Jhelum, India has already stored over 250,000 acre-feet of water, quietly gaining control over rivers meant for Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty. This means India can hold back water in winter, creating drought-like conditions, and release it during monsoon to worsen floods. Simply put, India now controls the tap, while Pakistan’s Mangla Dam sits at its lowest level in a decade. And regardless of all the chest-thumping, if India truly goes ahead with scrapping the treaty, the fallout for Pakistan could be far more serious than many realize.
As for Pakistan's options, we practically have a very few. Taking the issue to the UN or World Bank sounds good, but they can’t actually force India to stop... international law is just international morality, which powerful countries seldom follow. As for war, it may sound like a bold response, but it’s not something Pakistan can afford or win in its current state...
No it doesn't

we will break their tap and let the water flow free. womp womp.Pretending not to see it won’t keep us from going dry, mate

They wanting to turn Punjab and Sindh into an arid wasteland is already an announcement of war imo; albiet in indirect words.
It will take a lot of time and expense. Right now and certainly for next few years, things will be normal, and a lot can change till thenPretending not to see it won’t keep us from going dry, mate
But IWTs existence meant there were some rules established on what both sides can do. Abeyance of a treaty means they arent bound to it now, means free for all.Indians struggle to use all the water of river ravi that as per IWT completely belongs to them
Every year they release water on Pakistani side to cause flooding
The fact is as of today Indians have very little ability to store or divert water of 3 Pakistani rivers
They can build required infrastructure in a decade or so. Yes. But not today. Even feasibility reports and studies would take years to be completed let alone the infrastructure itself
All in all. It is a new lollypop by Modi to his nation. just like surgical strikes
it sounds really good when you say that you are going to starve your enemy to death. That is it. Such kind of jumlabazi works in India
