Bro, its a 5 year construction process

even keel layed in 2026 it will be by 2031-32 the first will be commissioned, wasting next precious 5 years without any capital ships (frigates or destroyers).

Had IN ordered further followup orders for 8+8 P-17A/B & P-15B/C in 2022-23 with block wise upgradations.

since both MDL & GRSE can produce tandemly IN would have inducting another 16 capital ships in between 2027-32.

P-17B/C & P-18A could have processed and ordered by 2027-28 and followed up with timeline of 2032-37 for induction.

Its pure failure of long term planning nothing else.

Now IN has diverted its complete attention from surface fleets to underwater fleets rather than giving equal attention to air, surface & underwater force. They are repeating mistakes of past.

problem is by the time U-214 (2034-2040) inducted completely Kilos will be almost 40+ years old. IN also needs to invest on homemade SSKs alongwith SSNs.

Unfortunately navy who is much better compared to army and airforce in taking decisions and executing them sadly on submarines they have behaved same as airforce.... full of laxity on submarines....
