'Indus Water Treaty Not feasible to maintain': India serves notice to Pakistan, seeks Modification.

India already got full share on 3 eastern rivers. What more do you want? Nuclear war? That treaty was already outdated the day bastard dictator Ayub Khan sold 3 punjab rivers to India. New treaty should be more fair, like giving some share of water to eastern rivers so they don't dry out in winter. While India take some share from Chenab, Indus and Jhelum.
Yes this treaty Pakistan gets 80% of the share and India 20℅ . It should be 50-50.

How do you transfer Indus waters to India ? Look at the geography dude. It would be wonder of engineering to accomplish it

I remember reading through the fine print of Indus river treaties. There is already a loophole in that it allows for local use of the water for 3 rivers allocated to Pakistan. Right now there are 7 million Kashmiris. Tomorrow if the population of Kashmir Valley hits 50 million (thinking of climate change) the water inflow into Pakistan would drop like a rock
We'll let the experts decide how to do it,

Waiting for demographic change to empower a loophole like that is useless, water scarcity is real ,groundwater is depleting very fast , we need to take drastic measures and do it fast.

Pakistan will be a water scarce country by 2030 due to its terrible management, we can't let India face the same.

It will take enormous energy to transfer Indus waters to rest of India. It is not worth the energy - probably easier to desalinate sea water

I don't think you understand how this works. India has sent notice. If Pakistan does not respond, India will abrogate it unilaterally.

We don't need your permission for this.

There will be war. Don't take water lightly.

Neither should Pakistan. In what universe does a small country like Pakistan take over 80% of the waters and a larger power takes less than 20%. This is unequivocally an unjust treaty for India.

The treaty is not acceptable.

By all means try to play dirty. You will find out in due time. Wars have been fought over much lesser issues. This is water we are talking about. The source of life. Keep agitating and fvcking around.

I don't think you understand what 'playing dirty' means. This is an unequal treaty, accepting such a treaty is playing dirty. India wants a fair treaty or there will be no treaty,

You are already getting your fair share and have for many years according to the treaty which is in place. You now want to make changes which clearly benefit India over Pakistan. Unacceptable.

This is new India. It won't fullfil any treacherous treaty signed by traitor Nehru. India will take what belongs rightfully to it

Any unilateral modifications to Indus water treaty should be considered an act of war.
If our water is limited we should limit Indias water. It’s up to india to decide whether they want to initiate nuclear war over Indus water treaty with Pakistan or not. In the end, india and Hindu civilization has far more to lose than Pakistan.

There is one river which has stopped flowing to Pakistan, you will get used to it. You guys cannot manage anything. When you have water it flows directly to see. Now we will use the water which is going to sea.

All the threats worked with old India, things have changed. This is new India with the fist pm who was born after independence. All the older generation who had the baggage are gone. In short our Salman will explain.

It is useless to abrogate the treaty. The Indus river water cannot be transferred to other Indian states easily, will take an engineering marvel worth tens of billions of dollars to do it. Rajasthan and to some extent Northern Gujarat are the only water stressed regions in India and they are far away from the Indus river. As another poster said, easier to build multiple desalination plants.

India should start work on the Kalpasar project, we’ll have more then enough water than we need.
