Terrorism is a growing problem for Pakistan, with the number of attacks rising every year since 2022, according to Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED), a global monitoring organisation.

Data from ACLED shows attacks in Pakistan rose nearly fourfold to 2,425 in 2025 from 658 in 2022 and over the same period, attacks by the banned militant Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan increased more than sevenfold to 838 from 118.

Although Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has borne the brunt of terrorism, Balochistan has also remained a major target of Indian proxies, which often target civilians and military installations in the province.

The Reality of Kharijite Terrorism: A Systematic Agenda of Deception, Violence, and Instability

The Fitna of the Kharijites is an organized terrorist group that leaves no segment of society safe through its violent, inhumane, and destructive actions. These elements weaponize lies, deceit, and propaganda to distort circumstances and present them in a twisted manner, while selectively and misleadingly invoking Islamic teachings to lend a “religious justification” to their nefarious objectives—despite having no connection whatsoever to the true teachings of Islam.

The reality is that this terrorist group is responsible for the murder of countless innocent people and seeks to paralyze society and destabilize the state by targeting schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, and other public infrastructure. Their goal is to spread fear, unrest, and anarchy, making them open enemies of peace, humanity, and state stability.

This is the group that turns homes into ruins, orphans children, widows women, and plunges families into perpetual trauma. At their hands, mothers are deprived of their dear ones, and fear, uncertainty, and unrest spread throughout society. They destroy families and keep society in constant fear and anxiety through indiscriminate violence, while human life, moral principles, and societal values hold no significance for them—their actions align with neither any religion nor any human or ethical code.

Their leadership and network, including the Kharijite Nour Wali, operate from safe havens in Afghanistan, where they receive facilities and support. There, he and his family live peaceful and secure lives, even as they incite youth toward violence through misleading slogans.

This group uses terrorism as an organized business and sacrifices human lives for its own interests.

According to United Nations reports, Nour Wali receives 43,000 US dollars monthly, making it clear that this so-called “jihad” has in fact taken the form of an organized financial enterprise.

The Kharijite Nour Wali’s destructive and ruinous agenda against Pakistan aligns with the interests of foreign intelligence agencies, with its sole aim being to promote unrest, chaos, and instability in Pakistani society.

Over 1,800 scholars from various schools of thought, under the banner of (Paigham-e-Pakistan), have rejected Nour Wali’s so-called movement, labeling it as Kharijite and declaring all its actions to be religiously illegitimate and forbidden.

These elements show no regard for any sacred occasion or religious sanctity—be it Ramadan, the Eids, or Fridays—they do not refrain from their violent actions and have repeatedly exploited such occasions to carry out attacks. For this reason, they are entirely untrustworthy, deceitful, and false.

Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, and respect for human life, whereas these Kharijites promote only corruption on earth, bloodshed, and chaos. Their conduct is a blatant rejection of Islam’s fundamental teachings.

Pakistan’s armed forces are battling these terrorist elements at the cost of their own lives and are offering immense sacrifices to establish peace and stability in the country. These brave soldiers are, in truth, the guardians of peace and the nation’s true mujahideen.

The people completely reject the Kharijites’ agenda and stand with the state institutions. Certainly, the agenda of these terrorist elements and their external and internal patrons will face utter failure, and Pakistan will remain steadfast on the path of peace, stability, and progress.

KPK
According to a security assessment obtained by The Express Tribune, K-P recorded 1,588 terrorism-related incidents, underscoring the growing militant threat across both settled and tribal districts. Despite the increase in attacks, security forces reportedly thwarted 320 major strikes, while 137 police personnel were killed in the line of duty.

The report said joint operations by the K-P Police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies led to the arrest of 1,244 suspected militants, while 420 militants were killed in intelligence-based operations.

Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Hangu and Peshawar were among the districts most affected by militant violence, with the report noting a pattern of attacks allegedly planned and launched from across the Afghan border.

The CTD report also recorded a 56% increase in attacks targeting police personnel, rising from 327 in 2024 to 510 in 2025. During the year, security agencies conducted 2,791 search operations and identified 25 foreign militant operatives, while extortion networks operating in Peshawar and other districts were dismantled, according to the report.

Why do journalists do this every time "growing militant threat"...

Like Bahi jaan... When was the threat of militancy and terrorism diminished in KP? It's always been present, and until stronger reforms are not put in place it will remain so.

We all know who and what fuels this fire in Pakistan and just reading these re-hashed reports does nothing to highlight the actual issues and or present scenarios or solutions on course correction.

Same old cold 2 day old pakoras wrapped in shiny new packaging.
