The Iran-Pakistan pipeline was not completed and operationalized due to US sanctions.Iran offered energy through the IP line. Based on all evidence what limits Pakistan's potential more than anything is the lack of affordable and reliable energy. Not dollars. Imagine the industrial potential of 130 million Pakistanis with that. But Pakistan is unable to act in the interest of its people because:
Former colonizers rarely grant full autonomy to their colonies. They always leave behind a dependent ruling class. Despite the China connection, Islamabad seems more western aligned. "Defeating" US in Afghanistan and the like are just empty feel good statements and far from reality which the reality that is obvious to anyone paying attention.
The most effective weapon the US actually has are the economic sanctions. Iran must use this conflict to get rid of all these sanctions. It's a bigger issue than Strait of Hormuz. If Iran can be sanctions-free, a whole new world of possibilities opens up.
