I believe I posted a well known Iranian source who commented on an article from Iran InternationalYou had a post from Iran International.
these are not serious 'analysts'. Scott Ritter is a convicted pedophile. There is a long list of analysts who have the credentials from Scott Ritter, John Miershimer, and Israelis who have said that the Israelis took a beating.
This is getting more and more comical, you would think they would have learned by now..
Way too late for that.^
IRI is trying hard to stay in power by being in good books of US, Russia, China, EU simultaneously, something they recently learn can actually happen.
Way too late for that.
They never thought shit would get real.
They thought they would be left alone as long as they didn't cross the red lines (going for actual deterrence), but things have changed, we're getting close to some major global changes, and Iran is on the top of the list for these global developments.
I think Khamenei has served his purpose. No enemy of Iran will ever want Khamenei and his gang gone from Tehran for simple reason. Faulty idea of IRI by default is making sure that Iran does not become a nuclear armed 4 Trillion USD economy with worlds 4th-5th largest STEM workforce. It does not have an ounce of nationalistic pride, lays no claim to its lost lands, poses no challenge to those who did wrong to the Iranian nation. Thats what IRI is ensuring so why would any one want them gone? IRI's survival favours Russia, China, US, EU, Israel ... everyone actually.

I think Khamenei has served his purpose.
He ruined Iran's golden generation. We had a peak of youths who were well-educated and could change the country for the better. Now, the average age of an Iranian is close to 35. Our work force is getting old, our social security is already close to complete bankruptcy. Fertility rate has dropped below 1.6 like highly developed European countries. We do not have enough water to sustain urban life in our major cities and we have no air force to defend our country. We have no nuclear deterrence to slightly change the balance in our favor either.
Now that the fool has served his purpose, it's time for change. I'm really afraid that what we are witnessing are the last years of Iran as we know it.
Historically speaking, many nations have gone through the same thing (foreign interference and eventual disarray and chaos) but only few of them managed to reorganize and get their shit together. Most of them lost their identity and territories for several decades, and usually centuries. And who knows what will happen decades later or centuries later with the advance of AI and neuroscience?
Honestly, I'm always against the idea that a single person can ruin an entire system if the system is not corrupt to the core, and if there are enough rational internal players to provide fail-safe mechanisms in the system.Khamenei will not leave until those who planted him in power and benefited from him allow him to leave. If he dies by old age one day, they will make sure that his predecessor is even weaker than him, probably already selected.
Khamenei is just one stupid man, IRI itself is a faulty or dysfunctional system of conservative theocracy run on socialist economy to control a highly educated progressive society. A recipe for disaster. Enemies of Iran know this very well so they make sure that this system survives. Israel attacked IRGC's CoC, scientists in their homes but left Majles shits and Khamenei untouched, wonder why? Because if Iran is left on its own it will become what it has always been, a filthy rich powerhouse sitting on and controlling Eurasian borders. Again why would anyone want that?

I think we are back to the time of Qajar, the only difference is that this time we are better educated in science and technology, but still quite gullible and uniformed (as a nation) about the schemes and plots that they have planned for us. We have two opposing groups who serve different power blocs in the world. Khamenei and his shills who serve the interests of Russia, and the reformists, currently led by Rohani, formerly led by Rafsanjani, who serve the interests of the collective West.
Khamenei is possibly the easiest target to lay all the blame on, and he obviously deserves most of it, but he isn't the only factor that we have reached where we are now. A lot of people could've stopped this madness, but preferred to play along with it to keep their interests intact and they thought the status quo would continue for the foreseeable future as long as Iran did not cross the red lines of world powers directly.
Tsarist Russia was perhaps the world's leading power in military and even Russia briefly went through the same period of foreign interference, confusion and disarray, betrayal and even civil war (Red and White armies) before Stalin finally came to power and stabilized the country. Lenin openly called for foreign interference in Tsarist Russia to gain power and bring him back to Russia, sort of like today's Reza Pahlavi. Will Iran be able to do the same in future? Probably, but I'm not optimistic at all.
