I remind you the US actually takes a lot of shit from its so called partners. Our own country literally killed hundreds of their soldiers, stormed their embassy, paraded their staff live on TV, froze their assets, and spent decades in antiAmerican activity.
And yet even now if IR was genuine the US would still extend their hand. Thats the reality.
The US is surely an evil empire. They have been involved in multiple devastating conflicts around the world and they are supporting an ongoing genocide in Palestine, but they're nowhere as evil as the Ayatollahs portray them to be.
But if Iran wants to establish ties with the US, we should consider the Jewish lobby in the US as well. We should stop fighting with Israel. It's not our war. We need a soft transition of power in Iran because the other option is very ugly. Blind alliance with China is not going to save Iran because non-member states can never enforce guarantees against UNSC permanent members.
We need China and we should improve our ties with China, but if people here think that China will give Iran guarantees or help Iran stand against the US or Israel, they're dead wrong.
Yep.
U.S. could have nuked Iran, or devastated it in 1980s if it wanted to.
Give America 15-20 years. The next generation of American leaders will hate Israel more than they hate Iran.
It is a fallacy to think you can win, playing this crusade against ZOG empire while under severe sanctions and arms embargo. China didn't do it, nobody did it.
It's not like Iran gained nothing from the U.S. during Shah era. Alot of Iran's technological foundation comes from what he imported in the 60s and 70s.
I just don't want to see a Pro Israel government, and soon you won't have to be in order to befriend Americans.
You are absolutely right. In fact, Carter said that honestly and directly.
He said when the Iranians took over our embassy, I felt really angry and devastated because Rosalynn and he had spent so much time in Iran. Then he used something close to your wording. He said he could nuke Tehran but he realized that any serious war with Iran would kill so many innocent Iranians.
The Ayatollahs do no understand how lucky they were that they faced Carter. Carter was a true Christian and a pacifist. Had somebody like Trump been in power back then, the embassy crisis could've turned really ugly for Iran. Even Khomeini understood that later, as they released all the hostages as soon as Reagan took the office.
The Americans have tremendously helped Iran in the past. People in Tehran still call Nelson Mandela Boulevard in Tehran as the "Jordan Street" in honor of Samuel Jordan who established the first modern high school (Alborz) in Tehran. They helped us build our infrastructure. No other European country has helped Iran as much as the Americans. That's a fact nobody can deny.
Had not Shahi Iran allied itself with US post WWII, USSR would have taken chunks out of entire NW Iran and created atleast 4 x Soviet republics out of Iranian territory. US pushed Stalin out of Iran. People forget this history. They armed Shahi Iran to the extent that in case of US vs USSR showdown, Shahi Iran with its mighty military and economic power would have created a new highly problematic front for USSR in south, more devastating that what entire EU could offer at that time. Later the same US supplied weaponry saved Iran from being invaded by Arab League + USSR powered Baathist war machine. Even during that war US supplied IRI with Fighter jet spares, A2A missiles, I-Hawks, TOW ATGMs etc. Mullahs try to hide this history because it exposes them as hypocrites. Forget US Israel supplied F-4E/D parts to Iran. IRIAF and IAF jointly attacked Osirak Nuclear plant. Trita Parsi wrote an entire book on this called "Treacherous Alliances" secret dealings of US, IRI, Israel.
Khomeini was hot-headed, but he was calculating and a realist. Khamenei is just a fool that has turned Iran into Putin's puppet.
