I can step out and be a neutral observer and say, wtf Iran what are you waiting for? Don't be like Saddam in Desert Storm where he waited to be attacked. If Saddam would have launched an offensive he still would have lost but it would have been absolutely bloody for the coalition. I would really like to understand their (IRGC) thinking why they are going to wait and respond instead of acting first. Do any PDF Iranians have a theory for this lack of urgency?

Saddam didn't really have any offensive options

He hardly had a airforce or navy and only had a few scuds

The coalition could literally build up a army of 1 million men on his borders and he couldn't do anything


When the war broke out and the coalition invaded, any Iraqi force regardless of how brave wouybw hit by airstrikes, decimating it and then the coalition tanks would roll over.


Iran doesn't have a great airforce
But Iran has extensive land forces set up to counter invading forces
A naval strategy to counter blockade

And most importantly a offensive missile force that gives it the ability to strike enemy targets


Preemptive strikes by Iran has been discussed
If I were Iran I wouldn't do that, if the war is to be started it has to be the U.S's fault.
The U.S has to be the aggressor so Iran can play diplomatic defence

I don't think it matters, as soon as the U.S hits Iran, Iran can unleash

Saudis know they are next in line to be trimmed after Iran so they are trying 'oh we are such close allies' but Smotrich already gave them the answer 'No thank you, keep riding the camels'.
