The hope of some that China or Russia will somehow start flying in weapons is silly. If they ever decided to go all in like Vietnam I picture a scene like the movie Casino where two made men were scamming the Casino Sam (De Niro) Rothstein is running and Nicky (Joe Pesci) goes to confront them giving them a onetime warning out of respect since they were made men. I picture Orangeman sending Rubio to give China and Russia a onetime warning out of respect since they are military powers that the next flight to Iran carrying weapons will be shot down or sunk if by ship. Maybe any other president would look the other way but not Orangeman he will call their bluff and shoot them down and tell them your move.

So what happens if the next missile out of Iran heading towards Turkey is "missed" by SM-3 and hits inside Turkey? Will they retaliate on their own or invoke article 5?

1. Iranians are not going to launch an attack on Turkey.

2. Turks are not going to initiate an attack on Iran.

3. The borderline between Turkey and Iran is essentially one of the oldest mutually recognized borders between two neighboring countries and stands as the oldest boundary in the Middle East for a reason.

4. Even if a single Iranian missile strikes Turkish territory, it won't have significant implications unless there's a consistent pattern. No one in Ankara is going to invoke Article 5 for just one missile.

5. Why the hell should Iran in this difficult times attack Turkey in the first place? What makes people think that would happen? Their entire foreign policy has always been very rational, even too rational one might say.

I don't think a nuke can take out Fordow. Use of nukes for such purposes was tried and long abandoned. Nukes are not an all-to-go solution for every problem. Their blast by its nature, is mostly reflective and travels at the surface/upwards to the path of least resistance. The major damage from a nuke occurs coz of the air-pressure waves (causing structural collapses leading to deaths), and radiation & high temperatures (both causing deaths). Ground shockwaves remain at surface levels too. There is comparatively less damage underneath a nuke compared to even the much lower powered conventional weapons.

• A 1KT weapon can create a crater 20 feet deep on average, flat ground
• A 1MT weapon can create a crater 200 feet deep on average, flat ground

Fordow is 300 feet Deep and the rocks are dense, steep and hard. Mountains are very good shock absorbers. I read a report saying that even a 1MT weapon might struggle to create a crater more than 40 feet deep on such a mountain. At the same time, it will obliterate a whole city around it - in lateral direction and spread radioactivity for hundreds of miles. Committing the largest ever war crime for a 40 foot deep crater is not useful in any way.

US did develop a 'bunker buster nuke" but it was abandoned as the shock and forces required tended to damage the mechanisms of the nuke and the effects were not worth the hassle. Conventional bunker busters are still the way.

For reference, this is a 200KT blast in on sandy, soft surface and was detonated slightly sub-surface. Fordow's mountain is one of the hardest of the surfaces one can find.

I hope what Iranis say about elongation of the war through less launches everyday is actually true. I am actually concerned about Enemies destroying Missile bases and missile fuel facilities.

Iran doesn't have to rely only on missiles to wage war; drones will become the main weapon that wreaks havoc from now.
