My dear brother, this is a real misconception people have.

1. Afghanistan and Vietnam were occupations where the United States had boots on the ground and were actively engaged in Nation building experiments.

2. the type of warfare between Iran and US/Israel etc is Asymmetric, including economic blockades and pressure through regional networks/allies from either side. In Afghanistan and Vietnam the US were engaged in sustained deployments of ground troops seeking to gain control territory and defeat local insurgencies.

In Iran the U.S. relies heavily on aerial bombardment, cyber warfare, sanctions and diplomatic pressure.

3. In Afghanistan the US were fighting the Taliban that were a highly decentralized non-state insurgency that relied on guerilla warfare, Iran conversely is a country with sophisticated military and a vast arsenal of ballistic missiles, drones and conventional weapons presenting a different strategic challenge.

4. Whilst in Vietnam the US occupied that land for over 10 years to install and protect allied governments, in the case of Iran, the US objectives have been containment, pressure and neutralizing what they deem as threats.

US has been doing land invasions on countries almost every decade.
I don't think there will be any problem for US planners to pursue their objectives via land invasion.

Tell me last time when they invade a country the size of western Europe full of mountains?

US objectives:
1- Complete surrender of Nuclear Program to US
2- Zero iranian control over SoH.

These are likely trumps goals

1- Softening up Iranian military backbone through consistent yet extensive bombing campaign - pretty much achieved in 40-day compaign

I dont think that has been achieved, Iran continues to attack US bases and hit ships that try to cross SOH without its permission.

US has the endurance of 10-20 years of occupying foreign countries but unlike Brits, they almost never succeed in making Other countries their colonies.
If Iran can endure this for a decade or two, it's their war to win.

They never occupied a country the size of Iran with 90m people.

Jordan claimed it intercepted 4/4 ballistic missiles launched by Iran overnight

This video shows multiple Iranian missiles impacting (at least 4), with no interceptions seen, despite Jordan firing at least 8 PAC-3 interceptors (cost of $32 million), depleted for no purpose. flawless Iranian victory.

There seems to be no data link to the guidance radar? They just seem to have been fired blindly/ shot gunned straight into the air in the general direction of the incoming Iranian wave?

Are these Sawdi on Captagon? or Fentanyl?

Why would they just launch them blind with no guidance? this is just wasting millions no?

This statement is flawed. During WWI the French deployed all their "available resources" without an understanding of the technical capability of the enemy. The French infantry marched into battle wearing highly visible dark blue coats and bright red trousers. The tragic reliance of 19th century uniform design and massed frontal attacks against entrenched German machine gunners resulted in the catastrophic loss of nearly 27,000 French men.

By 1915 the French were forced to bow to the realities of modern warfare at the time, which resulted in the ditching of the bright blue coats, the development of the first French combat helmet and abandoning massed frontal marches to the footnotes of military history.

There are plenty of examples like this, smart nations keep their biggest cards closest to their chests.

It's not that the west and U.S in particular aren't scum who would love to occupy Iran

It's just that the actual logistics are very very difficult and improbable

Iran is a very large state with 93 million people and a large military
It also has offensive missile and drone options

1-So how many troops will the U.S need to invade a nation of 93 million?

2-Where will those troops base themselves and how will they launch an invasion of Iran?

3-How will they stop Iran blasting those troops and launchpad with missiles and drones?

4-How will thousands -millions of troops actually get to their base/launchpad? Slow moving troop ships or aircraft?

5- How much preparation does the U.S require to deploy thousands of troops, does Congress, the country and troops plus families need to be notified?

And honestly I could go on and on and on



Is their a risk of a all scale land grab of karg island or something, sure, maybe, but as long as Iran can fire missiles and drones
Then it's pointless, because they will just insert U.S troops into a unwinnable situation where they will simply be picked off and killed and the invasion will be crushed and a propaganda nightmare




The U.S will hit Iran from air and hopes Iran will capitulate

Iran needs to keep fighting, absorb attacks and remember the effect on the U.S and world economy is the REAL WEAPON

And it's needs to control the Hormuz and enforce a toll, to obtain money to repair the billions on damage it has occurred

Absolutely yes! That is what I have been saying all along.

Feeling aggrieved, or wronged, or calling the other belligerent side the aggressor may feel justified, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual conduct of the war in response.

It must be ruthless and using all resources as best as possible. War is war.
