Hate to break it to you, but Pickaxe also has those ventilation shafts. Any under the mountain facility has to have them to pull in breathable oxygen and radiate heat.

Personally for me I believe they should have built ventilation shafts from ground level and not top down approach, but I am not an engineer so could be very wrong on that approach.
