Pakistan’s relations with Saudi are a special case & even that defense pact has a lot of nuance to it. The rest of the Arab world except Jordan was very happy to joy ride the Indian stick for the last 3 decades, especially after 9/11. The state of Pakistan is well aware of it. We have fought our geopolitical struggle for decades & come out on the other side with an incomplete victory. Hate to break it to you, but Pickaxe also has those ventilation shafts. Any under the mountain facility has to have them to pull in breathable oxygen and radiate heat.

Personally for me I believe they should have built ventilation shafts from ground level and not top down approach, but I am not an engineer so could be very wrong on that approach.
