From this RT article, it seem the US is confident that if it had just more assets in place, they can "repel" an Iranian massive retaliation :

The US is not ready to strike Iran as it needs to
deploy more air defenses to the Middle East to be able to repel a possible retaliation, the Wall Street Journal has reported, citing unnamed American officials.
Over the past few weeks, Washington has dispatched what US President Donald Trump described as a
“massive and beautiful armada” to the Middle East, led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, to pressure Tehran into accepting a new nuclear deal.
Despite the buildup, American airstrikes on Iran
“aren’t imminent” because Washington needs to make sure that Israel, its Arab allies and US forces in the region are properly protected, the WSJ said in an article on Sunday, citing its sources.

So, based from the article above, how realistic do you guys think the US calculated that they can perform massive bombing runs on Iran to topple the leadership and still result in 0 Ships sunk, Less than 100 US soldiers in bases throughout the region and in the USN killed?
The US seems very confident they can take down all of Iran's possible means of retaliation which could imply ensuring Straits of Hormuz can remain open while still having to hunt for thousands of SRBM, anti-ship launchers, so is their confidence really plausible or just wishful thinking from the US side they can win this war with very low casualties?
