A number of posters on the forum want China to attack or confront Taiwan militarily to draw in US army in order to "save" or relieve the tension of Iran in the Mideast. That's really unrealistic, I don't think China considers Iran or Venezuela as before is more important than Taiwan to China. Taiwan is a core of core interests to China. China doesn't want to see Taiwan destroyed or damaged seriously and their brothers and sisters on the island bleed badly. Previous Chinese military drills around Taiwan were just to pressure the separatist gov to keep Taiwan from drifting to separation.

China doesn't want to embolden the pro-US force in the middle east.

Also, the Taiwanese are not our brothers and sisters before they agree to unify with China.

For now, their alignment is still with the US, not with China.
