Not really an accurate comparison. What is available to Iran compared to what the Japanese could muster at Iwo Jima are different worlds. Literally. Proximity, logistics, manpower, closeness to the homeland etc.

This is a bit like claiming the Japanese could invade Singapore again with a few well trained divisions. It is a meaningless comparison.

Iraq had land forces but No Way to strike targets, so the allies could amass half a million men to invade Iraq and when they came up against resistance they used the air force to bomb the Iraqis to clear them out of the way


Iran has multiple ways to strike against its enemies, and when the target becomes juicy enough, Iran can and will burn any amassed force into the ground

Everyone with a fucntioning brain knows that these soldiers are just slop for the meat grinder. With the proliferation of FPV drones and other cheap tactical intelligence gathering drones, american soldiers are in for a ride they'll hardly be able to forget( granted they survive).
