Especially if helis fly at low altitudes heavy machine guns would be much more effective than trying to bring them down with assault rifles like Ak 47s. If helicopters fly high they will be targeted by existing EO systems.

it seems that even with their small pistols / rifles they were able to hit both HH-60 helicopters and even injure the crew! imagine if they had heavy guns like you say.

It was very evident from what happened in Venezuela. As soon as they were done, US took over the oil and left the Venezuelans to deal with whatever else was going on inside the country.

Venezuelans lost control of their own oil resources and US has talked about nothing, no democracy, no rights, no other BS, since that day.
