Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Unlike you, I don't think that people on PDF get to set policy for Iran's armed forces. You can dream about a fancy airforce that can defeat F-22s and F-35s all you want but that was never an option. if Anyone in Iran was dumb enough to think that they didn't need the IRGC's missile force because the air force could handle it, we would have already lost this war!
Lots of mental gymnastics again. Nobody said we didn't need missiles. That's a cheap strawberry argument and an attempt at deflection.

We spent at least 50 f*cking billion dollars in Syria, and possibly another tens of billions on our proxy militias in the last 3 decades. Do you know how many jet fighters we could've purchased and maintained for that money? There were people who insisted that investing in the IRIAF was a mistake because it would lose anyway! And you're repeating their nonsense here again but you ask who said that?

There were people like @Mr Iran Eye, who you think of very highly, that tried to spin the cowardly hiding of the IRIAF during the 12-day war as some sort of genius tactic and insisted that the IRIAF was fine and will make us all ashamed when the real war breaks out.

Come on dude it's a success. Materials are replaceable a fighter pilot/person is not this is a win.
How is it a success to get an F-15 shot down and then have to mount a CSAR mission for 48 hours that resulted in the loss of 1 x A-10,1 x Mq-9, 1 x C-130 = 2 x UH-60s damaged and multiple personnel injured over a country that has no Air force and No Air defences according to your Commander in Chief?

If you are going to determine the war by how many enemy soldiers the Iranian side kills then you will not have a favorable view.

Israel and U.S. will always be having a higher kill ratio against Iran. Those are the facts.

This type of operation was good experience for Iran and also to prevent Iran from getting to cocky as the last few weeks have been mostly Iranian momentum. These Iranian officials needed to be humbled a bit.

Iran needs to see its flaws and work to mitigate them the best it can during this war. Better to find out the problems during this operation then finding out on the islands of Kharg or at Isfahan nuclear complex.

The 12 day war taught Iran how to hide and use its missile bases better which directly translated to better performance this war as acknowledge by US media and U.S. intelligence services.

Exactly. People will say this is "cope", but in the grand scheme of things this was a tactical success for the US. It wont translate into changing the strategic map, as it currently is.

Im not going to say it didnt hurt. Catching that pilot would have been a good morale boost, and added to the pressures surrounding Trump.
Instead the opposite happened.

It will indeed spawn a lot of movies in the future, but movies dont win wars at the end of the day.

Well if 2 jets fall in deserted area in middle of no where ....
Neither is anything daring or heroic , Iran coast line is 3,000 KM
If planes go down in 2km zone it's literally a tiny spot with no value

Iran has no interest to chase broken plane parts or chase 1 or 2 pilots

If any of you have ever worked with tracking devices you would understand the advantages that the Americans had .
Imagine you have a gps tracker installed in a car and you are trying to find the car in a city the size of Tehran. without access to the gps data ,It is virtually impossible to. The car can be anywhere and hidden in all sorts of structures . If you have the GPS coordinates, you can go to the precise location.
Americans have access to real live sat data and they were able to find him and drop in and grab him and get out .
Iranian planners, who lost their brothers and neighbors ( bachehaye mahal) during the 8 year because they did not have access to weapons made the right decision. We don’t have an Air Force because no one was willing to sell Iran anything . Even if we did, we could not match Israel and the US. They made the right choice to invest in missiles, drones, and a symmetric operations.
The US suffered over 2 billion dollars in losses from destruction of its aircraft.
Once you add the radars, bases, and cost of operations over the last 36 days , you are north of $50 billion dollars . Which country has given the US armed forces such a beat down since WWII? Which country has dared to defy the US and go to war and have the upper hand after 36 days ?
Today Buck Rogers saved America in a Hollywood setting with their trillion dollar defense budget . This war is far from over . Iran has the cards , and the US knows that otherwise they would not request a 48 cease fire .
Especially when the car is trying its best to hide from you!

and worth every penny...... of which they have stop making.
tbh it was a waste, the pilot isnt going to be flying any aircraft and will probably go on disability. If I were in charge of CENTCOM I would've just left him there.

The U.S. lost 52 fixed wing aircraft and 23 helicopters in the Gulf War. In the Iraq war the U.S. lost nearly 150 helicopters. Losses have actually been at a minimum both from Iranian fire and friendly fire thus far.
The Gulf War was many magnitudes more lethal and enormous in scale with massive ground troop deployment. That is total coalition losses too. Iraqi army was probably better trained than iranian ground forces and more experienced.

Today there is a bigger technology gap. Steal fighter jets, modern avionics and more. The war is mainly conducted via the air.

Iran was unable to acquire an air force or defense systems. Nobody is really willing to sell Iran weapons for fear of being sanctioned by USA.

Israel already degraded Iranian AA capabilities in June 2025.

For modern US war standards the Trump administration is incompetent.

If they already had the GPS coordinates of the WSO, it wouldn't have taken them 24 hours to find him and rescue him.

Jesus didn’t like my resurrection joke earlier and personally saved the pilot on Easter weekend.

Cant make this stuff up, out of all times for a fighter jet to be shot down….Eastern weekend

What a daring US mission to reterive the fallen solider/pilot. Expecting a hollywood movie in few years time. A bit embarrassing for Iran. Clearly when you don't have an airforce, enemy can fly their machines at will at your own skies.

Anyways similar incident may occur in the next upcoming days as US planes will keep violating Iranian airspace.

*sigh*

I hope Orangeman doesn't overdo it since the war aint over for all we know I can wake up tomorrow to the news another fighter was shot down and pilot killed or this time captured.

You are coping :)
