The Strait of Hormuz is not International Waters. It comprises territorial waters of Iran and Oman.

Freedom of navigation is not applicable. "Innocent passage" is applicable.

This is my opinion:

• Trump entered this war over confident, thinking it will be over within a couple of days.
• He wasn't expecting the closure of Hormuz, skyrocketing oil prices and markets bleeding.
• Because the war plan was for a few days, he didn't plan for interceptors depleting over 6 weeks long war, the M.E bases and radars being destroyed.
• He also didn't expect they will have to burn through large numbers of their stand-off weaponry like JASSM and Tomahawks.
• Low stocks of standoff weapons forced US to take the risk of flying over Iran's territory, exposing them to AD.
• With each passing day Iran's missile count and its efficacy was increasing, means US air superiority over Iran was diminishing with time and so were the Israeli interceptors.
• Every few days Trump tried to announce the victory just because he wanted to get out of the war but Iran didn't let him do that.
• If this war had kept going for few more weeks, many of the economies would have been crashed, Israel would've been rendered defenseless, and even US economy would be in chaos.
• This ceasefire helps US more than it does help Iran, it helped Trump save his face from a humiliating defeat, or a genocidal action like using nukes.

I agree a show of Power and determination is only way Israel can be hold back from screwing up the deal, Iranian leaders should be given top security from Tehran or where ever they are in Iran to be picked up with their own security but their Planes must be protected and escorted by PAF and possible PLAAF.
