Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Israel has been through this before when George HW Bush and James Baker wanted to use their political capital from the 1991 Gulf war to resolve the Israel-Palestine issue, so they began pressuring Israel to sit down with the Palestinians and hammer out some accord. Israelis used their insiders in the Legislature and Executive to undermine Bush/Baker and then AIPAC campaigned against Bush in the 1992 general election.

Mr Vance is playing to the gallery here as he wants to protect his 2028 bid from this disastrous war but is vulnerable to AIPAC as well. It's a balancing act.

AIPAC has no where to go.

Next Dem candidate will be solidly anti Israel.

Vance is the best they’ll get.

Let others discuss.... and you, please follow your own advice.....wait and see what happens.

Of course. Please carry on as you wish. And so will I.

The key is going to be the next 60 days set in motion by the MoU, which is a great foundation to build upon. I suspect there were many behind-the-scenes commitments made by both sides to be followed up with the procedures and mechanisms to be finalized during this time period.

Yes, it will be quite interesting and eventful, these next 60 days.

Don’t trust Vance.
He is a pure chameleon.
If the votes were there he wouldn’t hesitate to wage wars.

Politicians are globally opportunists. So what's new in that?
But Vance was clear against any war on Iran before he became the VP and has kept quiet about supporting the war beyond what a VP almost always supporting his/her President's actions. But now Vance is sniffing a chance to popularity because stalwarts in the MAGA crowd like Tucker, MTG, Megyn Kelly (and maybe even Steve Bannon) have turned their backs on Israel.
Remember what I have always said in this forum: America is after all a democracy where public opinion can't be ignore beyond a point. This war on Iran was very unpopular and so the politicians are piggybacking on the anti war sentiments.

I disagree, I think he is genuonely America First, you can tell how he is bringing up US aid and Israel's global isolation, when was the last time a US Prez or VP said the quiet part out so loud?

We may finally be seeing the start of the US-Israel split, we all knew this day would come.

So far since the MoU fiasco we haven't heard at all of the final boss of traitors, Reza Pahlavi
No information as to whether he will be deported to Iran in the final deal or not

I saw Reza Pahlavi in a video yesterday. He seemed dejected and simply said the Iranians will continue their struggle.
PS. One of my cousins in Karachi was named 'Raza' and his sister 'Farah'! Born in the 60s. I wonder if they were inspired names!

Read up on Vance’s rise.

I don't get why the tomb of Esther even exists in Iran. We should bulldoze it for good. She conspired against our establishment and is responsible for the massacre of our soldiers.
I don't believe in destroying historical artefacts but it doesn't make sense to destroy Reza Shah's tomb but leave Esther's tomb alone, I would not destroy either.

Mojtaba Khamenei says he did not want to support the MoU but Pezeshkian promised him that they will defend Iran's rights and he will be personally accountable for it, so he approved it ...

Never seen the Israel-US rift this bad since Bush the elder held back aid. That may literally be next US steps if Israel continues to antagonise. The massive US aid to Israel is a big MAGA talking point

Look at both of the above posts, and know that it is quite normal to have such differences of opinion when it comes to momentous geopolitical decisions like the ones that will be made during the next 60 days.

Both sides have much to think about and decide as they move forward.

No, such language by senior US leaders is anything but normal, any casual observer of the history of Middle East for last 30 years will tell you this.
