Removal of US sanctions require congressional approval which is impossible because US politicians are bought and paid for. IIRC France said it would block UN sanctions relief if Iran didn't unilaterally disarm missiles and drones. There was immediate relief from the sanctions as part of the MoU.
The removal of sanctions was to be negotiated as part of the final agreement.
Exactly but this will turn the regional counties more hostile towards Iran than they already are, KSA so far has been patience due to Pakistan's request to not engage in offensive operations against Iran, but if Qatar ships are not safe, and Iran just keep bombing the neighbors then who wins? Israel is safe, they are just chilling, they have the money to recover from whatever damage Hez or Iran did to them, as soon as peace returns investments and bail out money will rush into Israel's economy via EU/America, but where does that leave Iran? they are being bombed at will and a constant threat looms over their heads, most if not all their bases are either hit or completely destroyed, their attacks have significantly weaken so rather than reacting like hitting 3 ships, maybe just maybe lower the heat a notch.Iran doesn't seem to have the capability to hit Israel majorly since the Fall of Assad and the decimation of its allies in Gaza and Lebanon, on top of Iran's longer range missiles not doing too much damage to Israel. There is a reason the Israelis want the war to continue: They know that hiding in shelters is a price they are wiling to pay.
It seems like Iran's biggest weapons left is to bring down the regional, even the global economy as Iran itself goes down. That's not a small weapon though.

This is the most absurd logic I've heard. So Iran is acting like America and forcing their will on Oman how they can use their waterways ? The goodwill is eroding fast because of these antics. Iran expect others to respect their sovereignty while themselves giving F All.
To hell with goodwill. You think Iran needs goodwill of a few fake tribal statelets? Go do something about it?
I mean, if these EU navies are smart enough to gather all their key naval forces and ships into the SOH and Iran locked them in there and destroyed them, that would probably reduce the chance of the ukraine war escalating.
The relief was there for countries to fill up their strategic reserves with cheap oil.Anything is possible. The removal was to be negotiated. The relief was indeed provided due to the MoU.

Agree, but I think this "deterrence" concept has proven flawed and needs to be retired. Looking back at the last 25-30 years, I cannot see who got deterred where. We are moving into a nasty new world where there will lots of low-intensity conflict using cheap , remote controlled weapons, occasionally cycling into high-intensity conflict before calming back down.Lack of deterrence. That's our problem.
All thanks to that stupid fitwa against nuclear weapons.
All I keep hearing is that Iran needs to make real concessions such as opening Hormuz and allowing ships to pass freely while the US just has to make vague promises of future negotiations because "anything is possible."Anything is possible. The removal was to be negotiated. The relief was indeed provided due to the MoU.
All I can say on this is that if Pakistan did not have nuclear weapons, there would be many more bloody India-Pakistan conflicts with outcomes similar to that of the annexation of East Pakistan in 1971.Agree, but I think this "deterrence" concept has proven flawed and needs to be retired. Even nuke weapons are not the deterrent they once were with this focus on low-intensity conflict and combining it with punitive economic measures, tech blockades, propaganda, support for internal insurgencies.
I do understand where you are coming from with your posts.
