It's more about what Russia is willing to sell.Unless those 2 Yaks were merely for testing purposes to determine if a larger order is needed.
Iran did the same thing in Syria. It bought <10 T-90’s and tested them during the war. Ended up going with Karrar.
they had some existing jets (at least 24 IIRC) produced for Egypt who cancelled that order. the rumours were that those could be sent to Iran quite quickly. but that obviously hasn't happened yet.It's more about what Russia is willing to sell.
They won't dedicate their SU-35 production line to Iran when there's a war going on in Ukraine and they need more jets for themselves.
