Iran did the same thing in Syria. It bought <10 T-90’s and tested them during the war. Ended up going with Karrar.

they had some existing jets (at least 24 IIRC) produced for Egypt who cancelled that order. the rumours were that those could be sent to Iran quite quickly. but that obviously hasn't happened yet.

I can't imagine they were too different than RuAF Su-35s, I'm sure they converted them back and pressed them into service by now.

In all honesty, Russia needs them more than Iran does right now.

There are people here who withhold what they want to hear. Regarding the F-313, Iranian authorities have said that there will be several configurations including manned and drone. Recall that in 2020 it was announced the start of construction of a new heavy fighter aircraft. Meanwhile, Kowsar is constantly improving. We will see in the very near future, certainly by the month of April or the end of April, the release of a Kowsar squadron

SU-35 and SU-57 are still being produced and added to Russian airforce.

Russia has over 250 SU-34/35 over 100 SU-30. Another 100 SU-27. Another 150 MIGs.

I doubt 12-24 SU-35 is going to make a difference if it went to iran. Not to mention Russian Air Force is not being used to its full capacity in Ukraine war as it stays away from major conflict lines.
