Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

No actual evidence has been seen of jets being bombed except SU-22 MK3/M4 of IRGCASF which, God knows, serve what purpose. Atleast I have not seen anything. 12 days war and this one, both times F-5E/F, F-14A/AM and now F-4E/D decoys have been hit in numbers despite the videos of them being towed in place to be hit.

What is mind boggling is that company that makes these decoys of all fighter jets and even Khordad HIMADs, radars etc is just outside Tehran, why no one targets it instead of wasting million of USD worth PGMs/SOWs on decoys.
Because you need to provide the livelihood as well. True story - US soldiers took months in Iraq to establish a relationship with a village during Anti ISIS efforts - having tea, gifts etc.
Before they go back to the base.

The village loved them, even calling them brothers. Then ISIS fighters show up, the ground force that established the relationship is ready to go, carefully house to house to take these folks out because they care about the locals and to reduce collateral.

Orders from Centcom - no - we will drop a JDAM and take care of it all. The troops protest knowing their weeks of relationship building and goodwill will be gone but no - orders are to expend the JDAM so stocks are used up, more can be ordered and those JDAM makers can also have food for their families and also money for the corporation.

US has more than enough firepower to flatten entire countries - but then you may end up suddenly depleting stocks but more so you cannot keep all the various folks and orgs in country happy. This isnt a blanket explanation but it is a factor in dragging out conflicts.
Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq all had this factor (among other things)

I was talking about Israel not US since now we have had two full wars with them. I would assume Israelis are not concerned about livelihood of a public-private partnership Iranian company whose sole function is to waste Israeli PGMs worth dozens of millions of USD on welded rods and wood decoys. As per credible aviation journalists, atleast 10-12 decoys were targeted by expensive SOWs/PGMs last time and same is happening now. May be they just do not care and want to make sure that they destroy what seems to be a potential asset of adversary, regardless of the fact that IRIAF does not exist as a combat capable force anymore. Who knows. Last time there were clips of 1:1 decoys of F-14AM (local upgraded F-14A) being moved yet few hours later the same decoy wasted a 4 million USD SOW of IAF. I wrote here that I was expecting ALBM landing on the decoy company but nothing happened.

Trying to reverse the damage that has been done to the repo of F-15 this week?

Yes and also the fact that Qataris don't have to face the inner pressure to respond to IRGC. They are creating funny stories of imaginary jets being shot down.

YAK-130 shot down

Just as I thought. The Yak is a small aircraft and the chance for surviving a hit is minimal. As you can see the aircraft was engulfed in flame and breaking apart with no sign of pilots ejecting. Those two parachutes filmed Yesterday were not from the Yak-130.
