Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Thank you for providing the videos. Wallahi I can't see the winglets being movable but I'll take your word for it. Though one must still accept that as a design concept the drooped winglets, movable or not, is viable aviation design despite the most of the so called expert opinions concerning the matter. As far as I know Iran was the first country in the world us the particular design beyond prototype.

On a scale RC model?

Iran is in need of Three-Tier system: JF-17 Block III (Low), J-10C (Medium), J-31 (High)
To remain competitive in the Middle East’s rapidly evolving air warfare environment, Iran must adopt a three-tier fighter fleet—balancing cost, capability, and strategic deterrence. Relying solely on outdated legacy jets (F-14, MiG-29, F-4) or limited numbers of high-end fighters (Su-35) is insufficient. Instead, Iran needs:

Low-End: JF-17 Thunder Block III (4 Gen, Affordable, Multi-Role)

Medium-End: Chengdu J-10C (Advanced 4.5+ Gen, BVR Focus)

High-End: Shenyang J-31 (FC-31) (5th-Gen Stealth, Long-Term Deterrence)

Tier
Role
Aircraft
Quantity Needed
Key Advantage
Low
Multirole 4 Gen fighter
JF-17 Block III
80-100
Cheap, sustainable, good enough for most threats
Medium
Air Superiority, BVR Combat
J-10C
50-60
Counters Gulf F-16s/F-15s, Rafales
High
Stealth Penetration, Strategic Deterrence
J-31
24-36
Forces Israel/Gulf to respect Iranian airspace
The talk in Iran is about purchasing Su-30 and Su-35. And in future su 75 or 57

There is currently no news about the relationship with China.

Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, General Vahidi: We are ready to introduce the new fighters into the Air Force, but this depends on a decision from the higher command...

This will soon be confirmed; the false analyses on this forum will shatter into shards.

These upgrades on the existing and old Bell fleet are great, but I wonder if Iran has ever considering importing more second hand Bell 412 through grey/black market in order to replace aging Bell 205/212? I know sepah has imported some. Iran already evades sanctions in buying commerical airliners, would it be harder to purchase Bell 412 helicopters?

Don't worry that much. Obviously IRIAF or IRAAF would hide, re-deploy and protect most of them if tensions reach a critical point.
Ukrainians hit very far away from the frontlines. I even woudn't blame RuAF. That attack was máster designed and brilliant executed. It remember me the film "Olimpic Heaven has fallen". When NK attacked White House.

It's very clear in this video, the all movable wingtip compared with Iran's dropped wingtip.

They're not even remotely similar.

No idea why people are comparing the two.

Israel already conducted similar attacks in October against our air defences, and against Haniyeh in April in Tehran

So where’s the SU-35? Where’s more than 3 YAK-130’s?
Russia is in short of weapons and seek weapons from Iran and NK, they may not complete export orders in years, or deliver in a very low speed. Other countries’ orders have been delayed either, like T90s ordered by India.

Russia is a unreliable exporter of arms, as has been shown in the past, best for Iran to start increasing their defence cooperation with China to a whole new level
